‘Definition of hypocritical’: Liberal Senator calls out Albanese government

Liberal Senator Hollie Hughes has labelled the Albanese government as the “definition of hypocritical” after Climate Change Minister Chris Bowen called Peter Dutton a “liar” for delaying the release of his nuclear policy.

Opposition leader Peter Dutton is being criticised for delaying the release of his nuclear energy policy.

The Coalition was set to unveil the full details of its nuclear plans before the May Budget.

“It’s a pretty big call there for Chris Bowen to come out calling Peter Dutton a liar when, at no stage, did they admit the lies that they told over the changes to the stage three tax cuts,” Ms Hughes told Sky News Australia.

“I mean, this government is absolutely just the definition of hypocritical.”

  1. I would sooner live next to a modern safe nuclear power reactor than live next to a ticking time bomb battery storage unit that can over heat catch fire before becoming a danger to anyone in close proximity of the burning energy storage battery especially one of the size that is required for the renewable energy plan .

Every single cell inside of a burning battery this size ( about few thousand of them ) becomes a exploding missile.

Ask any fire fighter until that's had to try extinguish one .

Has anyone even ask the chief of the fire service if he has any concerns about the safety of the storage battery for something the size the labour government energy plan will require .

    I don't think they have

  2. What l find so frustrating is the average Australian knows what needs to be done to help the country, and yet these " professional parliamentarians" can't put two honest sentences together. Many blame the Prime Minister for everything and yet he is just a figure head for a dysfunctional poetical party. Sadly this is not restricted to one Party, where are the politicians who have the courage to defend Australian interests and not pander to self interest lobby groups.

  3. 😂😂😂 no one's wants labors wind mills or solar panels
But going to steal our farm land for it
How about asking those farmer do they want solar panel windmills on their land
Atleast nuclar take minimum land from people and steal remain farm land
So please piss weak by labor if that's the best argument to not have nuclar
They can be placed on coal station sites as infrastructure is already there to connect to
Unlike renewables new tower and cables even more land taken up on top of panels wind mills
No counting on the environmental damage and deaths of animals
It's not even a hard decision to make which is better
For constant power for decades if not centuries
The environmental footprint and nature animals habitats
On top of less risk of destruction from weather
    Unlike windmills and solar panels
Cant even believe it debatable as one out ways the other two on every avenue
From constant power environments issue's as well as weather issues as well saving farm land

  4. How dea labour talk about what the Australian people need to hear about with the amount of NDAs they have had signed since they were elected. I do not under stand how this man can feel nothing but shame over what his party has done to the Australian people since the election let alone what they did in opposition before the election. I truly hope the liberal party remember what they are saying if they get elected.

  6. Interesting: liberal Party: let’s build Nuclear power station to relieve cost of living with cheaper power.
Labour Party: let’s introduce new taxes on the Australian people and businesses so that we can spend more money on defence budget and brag about how we spend everyone tax money, yet allow illegal boats and potential threats to land on our shores.
