Decluttering 24 things before 2024 in 5 minute chunks

Alright, this is just a fun challenge — 24 things before 2024. I may or may not have failed ;). But in today’s video, I talk about the power of five minutes when decluttering, the three phases of decluttering a home and the four stages of mastering decluttering as a skill. And, if you like this type of video, check out this one too: https://youtu.be/yBk-bM-PIN8

Also, if you’d like to see my list of 24 things written out…here you go:

1. hats
2. trash
3. broken toys
4. items to re-home
5. old receipts
6. broken pieces of nonsense
7. old customer cards
8. empty containers
9. expired meds
10. extra syringes
11. neglected recycling
12. expired foods
13. foods we never eat
14. extras that would just be nice to give to the food pantry
15. anything rotten!
16. fast food toys
17. things from a past season of life (in my case, cabinet safety latches)
18. duplicates (do you really need two?)
19. outdated tech
20. used up toiletries
21. leftover house project materials
22. excess storage bins (my husband just puts them in weird places around the house)
23. that pile of shipping boxes from Christmas gifts
24. you’ll have to watch to the end to see 😉

  1. That bin under the sink (nº22) was perfect in that spot for when you have a leak. For peace of mind I would leave it there but you can replace it with something smaller. Just think in terms of future minimal cleaning and restoration because of some drips.

  2. I JUST did our medicine/bandages storage boxes…they were a mess! I also love to do the 5 minute clean out of my car every week. It feels good to make the smallest space in my life the cleanest when the house sometimes feels too overwhelming.
