I can Prove the lady is wrong with actual physics and challenge her to do the demonstration to test the globe claims of gas behavior in the light of the 2nd law of thermodynamics – However There is No reason my Flat Earth friends to be hateful to the lady. We were all once where she is now. We all believed as she does, we all had the same education and indoctrination from birth. The lady said in a comment she does what she does to teach – that's exactly why I'm here – to show her, her error because I Care about truth in science and physics. I do this out of love. She cannot argue with actual physics she Must know that if she is a real scientist. She just needs to do the demonstration, study the laws of thermodynamics and then she will KNOW we aren't nuts.

Globe-Theorists often say silly things like “The Greeks knew it was a globe 2000 years ago!” or “Eratosthenes proved the shape with sticks and shadows!”… This is actually 100% false and pseudoscience. There are too many inconsistencies and variables in that fable to be a valid argument.
1. Not one single book exists from his time era ever mentions this experiment being done.
2. How did he coordinate the timing of this test with his partners who were 500 miles away,(Alexandria to Syene) or 10 days travel with horses? In a time with no cell phones or watches, this would have been impossible.
3. None of the books written by his apprentices at the Library of Alexandria ever mention his name. Eratosthenes name didn’t appear in school books until the 1980’s. We can’t even be sure he existed.
4. The light/shadow angles from a smaller and closer sun will give the EXACT same angles as a larger and distant sun. The math can work for both models. Flat or Globe.
5. Globe-theorists say that our atmosphere bends and scatters the light rays before they reach our surface, this alone would make that “experiment” null and void. If the light rays have been distorted then you would not get an accurate measurement.
6. Moon-light gives the same shadow angles as Sun-light proving a smaller and local light source will give the same angles.
The so-called stick and shadow test is ridiculous at best and an outright deception/lie at worst.

All of this flat earth discussion reminds of the theories of Immanuel Velikovsky, in their lack of evidence. Are you are on board with those theories too? I remember a guy coming to give us a lunchtime seminar once and spouting off Velikovsky theories. Half way through his talk everyone threw down their lunches and walked out on the guy. It was an amazing moment when scientists rejected nonsense in a very visceral manner. I learned then, to just not pay attention to such things. The best answer is no answer, just walk away quietly – but leave the lunch behind. So…. have my lunch guys. I will stick to science and thinking of a better future for all. I'm reminded of the issues surrounding the exploration of Lake Vostok in Antarctica. This frozen over lake was discovered by an orbiting radar spacecraft. The Russians and Americans wanted to drill to explore it. Would they find life or would it be lifeless? Only drilling in and breaking through the ice would reveal the secrets beneath the ice. They worked together to try to drill and not contaminate the lake so they could obtain pristine samples. Their work together was admirable. I am sure the groups here: traditional scientists and flat earth scientists can come together to determine a good course of action to put the questions to the test and arrive at answers in an amicable way.
You guys are the best. I so appreciate your passion for the topic of Flat Earth. It is not really my thing. I want colonists to go to Mars and survive by growing plants in greenhouses. I recommend extension courses in aerospace and thermodynamics at your local colleges and university extension programs. USC and University of Arizona have great Systems Engineering programs. MIT has a great non-programming AI program. If you want to stay online and without worry about grades, I suggest Coursera and Udemy. You can find just about any subject on those platforms. You can even get credentials for various subjects. Keep on poking at this subject and working to find the answers and experiments. You are an inspiration to anyone who wants to dig deep to try to learn something. Even if I don't agree with you, I respect the fact that you bring a passion and love for the subject.
