When a routine training mission goes wrong, Sarah’s unique human physiology allows her to bond with the mysterious Nexus Heart – a weapon so powerful its original creators couldn’t even use it. Follow her journey from rookie cadet to legendary warrior as she faces down an entire pirate fleet in a battle that will be remembered for generations.

Discover why being a “primitive” deathworlder makes humans the perfect wielders of advanced alien technology, and why the galaxy’s most sophisticated species are now terrified of what else humanity might find among the stars.

  1. That was crazy effing awesome! And, one of the most believable of these fiction stories I've seen. Not the standard "oh, we're able to do crazy stupid stuff just because we're deathworlders" line of schtick, but an honest idea that because we're not as highly evolved, not as highly specialized, and still more connected to our predator instincts, an ancient alien artifact could find us as suitable hosts for a symbiotic relationship with an ancient superweapon. Quite a neat and unique concept. Throw in the comical irreverence and this made an awesome story.👍👍

  2. Possibly the very best of these stories I've read!! ❤❤❤ Read a story earlier about Earth saving an alien fleet because humans preserved backups powered by primitive power systems. The aliens threw away perfectly good older working tech in favor of the latest and greatest, so when that broke they had nothing to fall back on. It seems that humanity is the universe's fallback. We're not specialists we're generalists.
