  1. I was involved in this Monday morning and the visibility dropped to zero in a matter of seconds in which the SB travelers such as myself slowed down drastically so we would have response time to stop if need be. I was on the SB side stopped and rear-ended because the person could not see me at all and my hazard lights were on as we stopped due to an accident a few yards ahead of us. In the midst of my accident while I was on the phone with 911 the NB side crashes started hit after hit after hit. It's easy to look at this situation and say "well slow down" and all of that. But we were slowed down. Speed limit on that bridge is 70 mph normally. No one was doing the speed limit or above. Everyone was driving at a reduced speed, but when you go from being able to see to being bind essentially with cars already stopped and you can't see them until it's too late, what do you do? Let's all stop talking about what everyone should have done and just pray for the families who lost loved ones and those who are in critical condition right now. I will never get the sounds out of my head and I can tell you as an eye witness to it all, the best description I have is the car wreck scene from Final Destination. I am eternally grateful that the tanker truck carrying a toxic chemical – formaldehyde – did not explode or leak out because there would have been a higher number of dead/critical. Everyone watch out for everyone on the road and stay safe out there.

  2. As our society's discipline declines, we see more unprosecuted dangerous driving that puts us all at risk.

Also, it seems as if a Highway Patrolman could possibly see the fog developing (or already developed) and call headquarters to stop traffic from enetering the areas as well as ask the Governor to announce a temporary emergency travel shutdown for the area. Maybe I am naive.

  3. I donโ€™t feel bad
Iโ€™m a truck driver you wouldnโ€™t believe the idiots that drive fast thru thick fog and people that like to ride ass while Iโ€™m in the slow lane

  4. Cell phone companies pay for anti texting while driving adds because they refuse to stop letting people use there phones while driving. At&t, verizon, t moble are all responsible. They are culpable. They need to be held responsible.
