  1. Lol first time I watched this scene and the wolf said he was death, I whispered over to my Fiancé, “what like metaphorically?” And we both started laughing in the middle of the theater when he clarified himself

  2. What I love about Death is he's a great antagonist because he's doing his job and there's this species of mortals that have extended warranties on their lives, and one of them is a complete jackass with how he treats his life. The design is simple but effective and the red eyes that are emphasized and remain on screen even when everything else in the scene dims or flashes emphasizes that bit of unnatural threat.

  3. A lot of the reactors here fail to understand why Death has the authority and reason to take Puss's life. Death hunts those who don't value their life and use their power of having multiple on a whim. If you don't value your life and the things in it, why should you be allowed to live one? There are others that could benefit from a life such as his. Puss has so much and is self-absorbed. He's almost addicted to the attention he gets, and doesn't recognize the important parts of life and how to live a healthy one–with healthy relationships. It isn't that Death is "cheating". He's in his right to take away those lives that aren't being valued to the fullest–especially since Puss has nine and used up every single one of them up to the last one. Only after he fears the reality of his demise, does he try to spend his life valuing friendships, relationships, and the world around him. That's the whole reason when Death looks into his eyes in the last scene where we see him, he outright says he doesn't see that Puss from before. (Because Puss is 1. No longer afraid to face Death and 2. Will spend his life valuing others in it.
