  1. Am I remembering correctly that there were tire tracks on his pants leg? Transporting him on a 4 wheeler would make sense of that with the possibility of him perhaps falling off and being run over before the operator of the ATV stopped to put him back on.

  2. There is a 3rd way he could've arrived at the spot, he was on the train with his bags (leaving town?), and someone threw him/dangled him off the train to k*ll him. The killer could disembark at any place the train slowed down enough and be picked up. If dangled, it might explain the twist to the leg?

  3. My question is, does the railroad company keep records of deaths or injuries that happen on their tracks or do they just rely on whichever law enforcement agencies investigate them? It might help statistically & in comparison. My next question is why did the local LE close this without doing even a basic investigation? Are they somehow connected to anyone involved? Are they influenced by the position of the railroad company? Are they understaffed or untrained? Are they involved with drug activities in the area? Because of your experience with LE, death investigations & small towns politics, did you look deeper into the investigators? I'm sure DJs family appreciates your efforts as do I. It's such a shame that we see, time after time, that some people's deaths aren't given the level of concern that others are. Imagine how many other's haven't been appropriately investigated because of the inherent bias of LE. The behavior of the victim doesn't mean that crimes against them don't deserve the full use of resources to solve their deaths. FITSNEWS has shown itself to be capable, caring & fair in digging into the cases you've studied with compassion for the victims & families. I'm anxious for your next post. Please communicate my condolences to DJs family, this isn't entertainment, this is a serious matter, not just for them, but for all of us. I know too well how meth affects not only the user but family, friends & the community. At times in the past, it felt like watching my daughter floating away on a leaky raft, headed for disaster which I had no chance of stopping. By the grace of God, she got clean & out of that life. She's seen so many of her peers die young & more than one who lost their lives & LE didn't care to discover the facts behind their deaths. Their kids have lost a parent & learned that LE considered them unworthy of their attention. This is unacceptable! We must demand better. It sure seems that a truck or 4×4 could be involved. Shame that evidence wasn't pursued & DJs family has had to do this, thanks again for your interest in this case.

  4. I think the people who did it chose the spot because they did think the trains would've destroyed or concealed alot about the crime. They knew he would be run over because trains don't just stop on a dime. It being in the middle of the night probably even counted on more than one hitting him; they wouldn't notice him until daylight. That's probably a site the people knew well knew several trains come through every night.
