Dear Constance, Episode 108: What You Don’t Change You Choose #shorts

At work some years ago, a colleague stopped me in my tracks. She said “Constance, you either need to stop it or get yourself into therapy.” Stop what, you wonder? Yep, stop complaining.

She was right, of course. I was done. It was time to pack up my desk and move on. By not making a choice to leave – and to change what was making me miserable – I was choosing to be there. Bless her heart, she reminded me I had a choice to make.

The first step in choosing to make a change is to shift the focus from what isn’t good and right to thinking about what we want and how we’re going to get there. Posing questions triggers the subconscious to start looking for answers. It really is as simple as that.
