This fake racism bait just downplays real racism that still exists. Take a lot of Nordic countries that are fetishized in America for their social programs. These places are great for white people but ask people of other races their experience in these countries like Denmark and Sweden and they'll have a different opinion.

I'm with you in terms of the kid having done nothing wrong and the journalists being malicious actors.
Though I do think it's kind of a problem that so many US sports franchises have caricatures of a conquered but still living people as mascots as for sports franchises. Like imagine if the US had a sports team themed for WW2 era Japanese soldiers or the Red Army.
The journalists were maliciously omitting information, however I bet a ton of well meaning people signal boosted those pictures for being offensive since they DO look bad from that angle. And I think it's a problem sports mascots quite literally look like racial caricatures from the side like that.
Completely agree, US liberals are fucking weak sauce. Unfortunately for the rest of the world, we're also too deep in doublespeak to realize liberals aren't actually leftists so we might not ever have any actually progressive political movement.
Edit: Came back to say I left with seven minutes left after you wouldn't stop with the same, tired diatribe about how silly the libs are. Right after you read how people were using the black faces in the cannibal DLC to target other players and harras them. Kind of like, maybe there's more than one way to see what blackface is? Like how, technically, wearing a black face as a mask isn't blackface, but how it would make sense that people who are racist, and play that game would use those black faces to do racist things? It's almost the easiest thing to imagine.
