It is quite interesting to note that almost every mechanism of a land army which is in use today was already known and coded back in ancient Rome.

Farsi isn’t the language spoken in Afghanistan, Farsi is the language of Iran. In Afghanistan it’s Pashto and to a lesser extent Dari.
My dad met some Gurkhas when he was in Afghanistan with the Marines. I don't remember what he traded, but my family is now the proud owner of a Gurkha kukri knife

My grand-grandparent was drafted to the blue division, he was one of the ones that preferred to keep fighting instead of coming back to spain, my family didn't knew much but what i learned by searching for documents is that he went with the ss and died in belarus. Funny enough my other grand-grandparent was one of the many spanish republicans that joined the allies and later he liberated Paris, so yeah, i have family history on both sides of ww2

The Taliban have proved this to be false, a group of poorly equipped mountain men overcame not only these special forces guys but all the airpower/artillery thrown at them by a combination of the worlds most powerful militaries, heart beats technology if your have the will to never give up & the brains to outsmart the superior force. Stinger missiles helped against the Soviet’s but against NATO they didn’t have such weapons to attack NATO aircraft, but they adapted, it took much longer but they achieved they’re aims in the end.
These SF guys are like rich kids who have all the toys/support but they ain’t never fought a superior force, always fighting less technologically equipped enemies, with intel info supplied to give them the element of surprise, guys like the Taliban have always fought technologically superior enemies & have always succeeded in removing them from they’re countries, they’ve proven they’re the best fighters to have ever existed, imagine if they had the same tech as the West, nobody would ever fight them.
Gurkhas, just like Sikh fighters are very good fighters but lack the heart & smarts of a true warrior, they were defeated & became the servants of those that defeated them, they took on the cause of they’re former enemy, fought & died for another’s cause instead of fighting to the death for they’re own cause, they allowed themselves to be defeated, this shows a lack of honour despite what what most believe about them, you don’t switch sides & become a tool for your enemy for a wage, it’s more of a mercenaries mindset rather than a warrior.
