  1. I knew this was inevitable, the fact that they're remaking deadspace means they'll probably make 4th after they remake 2 and 3 (IF they do), but I'm mainly hoping they remake their first 2 dragon ages, I'd LOVE to play as my Grey warden with updated graphics and mechanics.

  2. I really hope The Callisto Protocol does well and launches smoothly. Glen Schofield seems really passionate about it and from the trailers it looks amazing

  3. With THE CALLISTO PROTOCOL set for release next week this is a very good buildup for Glen Schofield's and his new developing studio Striking Distance Studios. I hope the game is a HUGE SUCCESS. Surely they deserve it after how E💩 treated Visceral Games

  4. I remember going to to a preview event for Dead Space a few months before release and being blown away by the atmosphere and narrative, not to mention the visuals. I'd reviewed the original RE4 release on GameCube a few years earlier and while the inspirations in Dead Space were clear, it also broke a lot of new ground and raised the bar on what a horror game could, and should be.

And it is truly amazing how good that Dead Space gameplay still looks today, 14 years later!

What a great few months we have ahead of us – Callisto Protocol, Dead Space remake, RE4 remake, Silent Hill 2 remake (my all time favourite survival horror), and even though only one of those is new IP, I'm excited about all of them 🙂

  5. I remember like yesterday when I played Dead Space after release and could only play 1 level pro day because of the horror atmosphere. Every level was in a worst state then the one before. Still after all these years it has the same effect. Sure now I can play more level pro day but it is still terrifying. Great video and can't wait what you will analyse next :3

  7. I was watching the video, and when it comes to the waypoint button, I fully agree with you as far as exploration and immersion. I would like to add something that you may not be aware of. The waypoint feature is a good accessibility feature for players, with visual impairment of those who need help getting back on track to where they need to go. I had only option to have that button be disabled would be an interesting twist. Yes it would be. I’m just saying that Freeman accessibility perspective for someone like myself or other players or visually impaired or who need that feature. I’m glad they put that in. Unfortunately, I missed out on playing the original dead space, however, I plan to rectify this, but you have a full Playthru of the remake. I’m also wondering if the Colusa a protocol will have the way point navigation button as well? Lastly, you did a great job on this video. I enjoy what you do. Keep up the amazing work. Happy Thanksgiving and seasons greetings.

  8. So glad you made such a good video on this undying classic.
You are my 1st goto for horror reviews
Also the use of classic RE2 really reaffirm the tone of your vids, i offten listen to RE2 and 3 ost, never get tired of them.
Not sure the remake is needed at all. Seems to be a trend to remake games made yesterday. just run old dead space max settings. Can't wait for Callisto protocol, the real dead space 3.

  9. I think a great testimony to the design of DS1 is in DS2. When you have to return to the Ishimora.
I don't know about you, but even after the new horrors of the station, the thought of returning there gave me pause.

  10. Dont forget to mention – most of the ideas in the game for the dismemberment / enemy design / environment etc are straight taken from the DEAD SPACE horror animated film and comic book series (artist – Ben Templesmith). Dont praise RedWoods work too much, it is not like they created something from scratch/from nothing.

  11. I am very happy this game is making a resurgence throughout the gaming community. I feel like because the current state of multiplayer games is so bad people are starting to look back at the games that reinvented certain genres and everybody keeps landing on dead space recently. Truly beatiful.

  12. I think this wasn't touched upon specifically, but the diegetic UI on Isaac's back also makes in-world sense. The power armor he wears is supposed to be an engineer's power armor, and very likely something other engineers wear too. So being able to see other engineers' life and stasis charge would be extremely useful when conducting dangerous activities out in space.
