The studio turned him into a full on ape. Doesn't even look human – looks like a chimp crossed between the Bogdanoff twins. Fuckin' hell.
I prefer Hammondβs death in the original. He was tenderized and when the brute realized he didnβt have any seasoning, he got pissed and threw him through the glass
he was the best part of the remake
Love both of the death scenes, no matter what Hammond is always a Badass and dies like a fucking unit
Hammond's death was a tragedy but to be fair, he's the reason he died – he launched that escape pod that got onto the Valor(and caused that whole crew's death).
Hammond being a huge Bro as always. He always Go down fighting.
Quoting Jeremy Clarkson: HAMMOND!!!
press F to commemorate the sacrifice Hammond
well at least this one was a… Nobler death than the first one? I mean bein' ground and Pounded and torn to shreds by a Enhanced Brute was maybe the worse way to go.
Super cool :)) πππ§‘πβ€π
They made Nicole look so unattractive. I would never go in the USG Ishumura for her
Liked his death in remake. Not died in vein like in original but gave his life for a cause
Is he not in hydroponics now?
Chen died the same way in both games. In the original he was a minor character that was there just to die, he wasnt turned into a slasher nor mentioned again. In the remake they expanded upon him, being an actual plot point (his Slasher was responsible for USM Valor crashing and Hammond dying).
At least in remake he didn't suffer like original. RIP my man.
Chen in the OG was killed off and was never mentioned again. In the remake, he turned into a slasher and was a plot point.
In the original, Hammond came to me as just leader of the team who barks orders, follows protocol, and dies. A plot device.
Here, he came across as someone who really cares for his crew, and despite his affiliation to the CEC, knows they've gone too far. Also, his inability to put Necro!Chen down, while poor in judgement, is understandable, and I really like how his actions, while good intentioned, causes more harm than good. And ultimately, he overcomes his Marker-induced dementia and sacrifices himself to atone. In short, he's an actual character.
Yeah, I know some prefer him as a plot device, and my memories of the OG!Dead Space are fuzzy. Nevertheless, I really appreciate what the Remake did in enriching the experience.
Remake Hammond in a nutshell: C H E N
No matter what anyone says, nothing beats the original Hammond voice actor. Here are some of my favorite lines
"Then reroute the damn power!!!!
"G-d damn it"
"I'm pulling a stop to the mission. Fuck the cec and fuck the chain of command. We need to get out of here"
the voice acting in the original was so much better imho. Peter Mensah (Hammond) did an incredible job
25:04 I couldn't believe he died
Hammond in original, he's very strict, good leader and he dead by a Brute. And in remake, like a bromance to issac and chen, but to chen he likes a lot. And he die together like a hero π₯²
