The game was nothing short of thrilling as Manchester City put on a show against Arsenal, beating them 4-1 and inching closer to the top of the Premier League table. The Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne was in top form, scoring two goals with decisive assists from Erling Haaland, and also contributing an assist for Stones. Although Holding scored a consolation goal for Arsenal, it was Haaland who stole the show by scoring his 33rd goal in the competition.
The first half saw Manchester City take control of the game, with De Bruyne opening the scoring in the 6th minute after a brilliant run from midfield, shaking off the challenge from Gabriel Magalhães before slotting the ball past the keeper. Haaland had several chances to add to the lead, but Ramsdale in goal made some fantastic saves to deny him. It was Stones who finally added to City’s lead just before the half-time whistle with a well-timed header from a free-kick.
In the second half, Arsenal tried to get back into the game but only managed one shot on target from Xhaka, which was easily saved by Ederson. Manchester City continued to dominate and De Bruyne got his second goal of the game after a brilliant assist from Haaland. Holding did manage to score for Arsenal, but it was too little too late as Haaland got his well-deserved goal in injury time to seal the victory for Manchester City.
With this win, Manchester City is now only two points behind Arsenal, but has two games in hand. The team is set to play West Ham in their next game and Brighton in their following match.
