you should try using the ocarina, im pretty sure its not a leaf icon, and its kinda forestcore
With the farm you could just do the dark dirt in between the light dirt paths so you can have strips of dirt but still use the whole area
Can you use the pro designs to make the standee cut outs since they aren’t an item? If so you could make an ice cream truck!

I’ve seen people use the sugarcane to make rice fields which could be a fun idea! Also I use to use to custom design hats behind bushes and flowers with a frog design to make it look like there were little froggies in the bushes!

Okay hear me out: two tree stumps on either side of a puzzle custom design so it looks like two people were doing a puzzle together and sitting on their stumps. You could even do two different trees to make the stumps mismatched. Also! Don’t sleep on balloons as a decor item. They add some nice height and aren’t a leaf icon. 🥰

everything’s already looking so cute!!! an idea i think could also be cute is to make a little fishing spot near your house since you have all that water around it. maybe cut down a tree and use the stump as a seat and then put a fishing pole next to it
i would love to see a giant bear footprint custom design on the ground, i don't know why but it reminds me of an old ass multiplayer game called BoomBang, you could chill on a tent while raining and there was a giant bear/yeti footprint on the floor
I feel like really early morning ( 5 – 7 am ) would be great for the forest theme!
Have you tried placing sugar canes? Not plant but place. They look super good placed! I did it on my farmcore island.
A good build could be a rock garden useing the normal rocks and maybe some fossils!😊
For forest themened islands i'm a big fan of holly bushes.
They only blossom in winter

I'd definitely recommend getting kicks' shop on harv's island! (if you haven't already since ur a few days ahead) his little bags can be placed right on the ground + shoes and socks! also, the august festival raffle ticket items from redd are different from the normal ones, including cotton candy and boba!

You should decorate with other creatures (fish, bugs and sea creatures) some of their containers are really cute~
definitely do the alternating dirt colors to make rows for the crops! it's such a nice look, makes twice the space for the crops, and also looks more natural than rows that are a light year apart lol

You should keep your Megaloceros and Mammoth fossils! The Megaloceros is the one that looks like a deer and the Mammoth is of course a Mammoth. They may end up fitting in with your forrest theme!
