They are not surviving, they only demonstrate survival techniques, they have a whole crew of experts following them.
The constant moving really hinders the show. Have them at least say in one location for a few days before moving on. From the viewers perspective, they spend 2 easy days camping.

Pretty small signal fires. This show is ok. But alot is faked. Some of the animals are planted for them. And they always have camera men with them . They have satellite phones in case of trouble.
