DaC – Bree: 05, Take Back Our Lands

Dac V5 is still being worked on and this is a pre-release version.

The latest public version of DaC (V4.6) released on the 25th April 2021.

I was the modding lead for Divide and Conquer for 9 years and it is a total conversion mod that brings Lord of the Rings to the total war setting.

  1. Always enjoyed your Warhammer campaigns! But it's definitely a much harder game to follow. Map and UI feel so much more busy, battles feel more chaotic…

Defo looking forward to Immortal Empires 🙂

  2. I have watched your Warhammer campaigns and they are very entertaining. Especially the Tauros one and the one with the wood elves. Currently watching that, I can proudly say that I suck at the game more than you, so it feels good to see you play. I learn a lot. 😀👍🏻

  3. Hey so I'm new to watching these but i wanted to tune in cause I heard u say in one of your videos that Bree is your favourite faction. My question is why though, their roster seems so boring

  4. Personally I don't mind if you no longer adhere to the schedule. As long as the videos are still good, and they absolutely are! Love your enthusiasm and 'free spirited' mind.

And I actually enjoyed your video's about the Rings of Power series. I'm trying to be as open minded as possible and you explaining everything and going through it is just a fun watch. Shame lots of people have to be so bitter.

  5. I have watched a few Warhammer Videos, but Warhammer is just not my thing.

As for Fantasy Books: I was also surprised that you mentioned Stormlight Archive.
Have you by any chance heard of the Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson? (It's so worth it)
    🙂

  6. Do not worry Galu about not being dedicated to a schedule between the boiling temperatures and your work we understand if you push the completion of this campaign to the end of December.

  7. I think you will enjoy the Wheel of Time show in the short run. However it is terribly reviewed because of how badly they twisted the adaptation. I know you like to bang on about how if you dont like a certain adaption just dont watch it and let others enjoy it. But the show is very keen on ruining the book enjoyers enjoyment of the show, however the only following that WoT has is the book following. Major plot points that took books to resolve happen willy nilly in the first season, like for thousands of years X,Y and Z are impossible even in the time of our peak advancement were suddenly resolved willy nilly by people with no experience with no explanation, by the wrong core characters.

In this case i think they made a show that only book readers were excited for but then gave a big middle finger to the book readers, they scorned the book readers in favor of what the populous thinks is good. The book readers say this sucks, and everyone that i know that watched the show, but didnt read the books, were entertained but not hooked or cared after a few months. The show is in my opinion not a good show from a technical story telling stand point which is why the people that had no clue what the Wheel of Time was before the show aired said he cool i enjoyed it but quickly forgot about it. Versus the Game of Thrones or even the LOTR movies, both of which took big departures from the books but were still true to the source material.

For you I'd say lets picture book Aragorn to movie Aragorn, largely the same but he was the reluctant hero in the movies, everyone else was largely the same. In WoT take Aragorn and move him more left and put everyone else so much more so left. The show runners have basically said we dont care about what the author was trying to convey i want to put my message in it. To cap it off they consulted Brandon Sanderson on the script and after a few curtesy comments said yeah we dont care about your opinion, which he was tapped to finish the series.

which is why im more excited for his movie/tv adaptations because he said he learned and wants more control over his material than what happened to other book to movie adaptations

  8. I'd form the best army that you can between Brathor's and Barliman's hosts and let Brathor lead it north to reclaim Annuminas (there's something poetic about a Ranger reclaiming the old capital of his kingdom). Send Barliman and the remnants to Bree to reinforce Bilbo. If you take Annuminas, Angmar will only border you in Annuminas and Bree, cutting their access off to the Shire. So long as the Dunedain don't lose Celoniach and Metraith (which admittedly looks increasingly likely), you can hold the Angmarim off until you can recruit some forces and stabilize the Dunedain.

  9. Good day to you everyone, hope your day has been! I would like to ask for some assistance.

I have been playing as the woodland realm on divide and conquer. I am trying to figure out how to get the ents but have not figured it out yet. I am wondering if anyone can provide assistance in how to get ents? I would really appreciate it. Thank you and have a blessed day.

  10. Are you playing Dol Amroth on a different install? It has been bothering me that your save game files has no Dol Amroth there. A weird thing to be bothered by I'll admit… Anyway, really enjoying the videos Galu and I hope your work stresses calm down sooner rather than later.

  11. Considering the state of warhammer 3, i dont trust that their lotr game is gonna be any better. I'll more than likely still be playing v5. I dont care about antiquated graphics, i still play diablo 2 off my original disc to this day.
