Was there not an infield error on the diamondbacks with that popup missed? Scoring didn't record it as an error which is surprising to me.
sorry for being a casual if this is a really dumb question, but yann gomes in my opinion is one of the worst hitters on our team, and in general i believe worst starting players. Now i’m curious at 5:08 why yann gomes is hitting for the bases loaded?!?! For example he was already 0-2 that game through, and i guess yeah he could have gotten a hitter, but did we have no good pinch hitters like patrick wisdom, or something? Or could we have even used a pinch hitter? I also believe he is a very dumb player who wanted to look good and will risk his team winning to look ok.

even if the Cubs win the NL Central division, it won't matter, they'll still have to play in the wild card round, the most they can be is 3rd seed, Dodgers are too good, I doubt either Brewers or Cubs would catch up to them at this point.
Is this the all too familiar September swoon for the Cubs? Among other things they need a catcher who can maybe some day, somehow throw a runner out at second. The guys got an arm like Dylan Mulvaney.
