Surprise! Surprise! When you don't have a dedicated bike path, this is result. Narrow the car lanes and make some protected paths! Sick and tired of USA AUTOMOIBLES dominance on road. Make it so EVERYONE can use public roads safely, not just those who can drive. My Mom was killed walking on sidewalk by driver who had medical issues and wasn't supposed to drive. But driver had no other option to get to work. Let's fix these issues, they do in poorer countries, guess their more capable than America.
Legalizing bicycles on roads built and designed for cars is honestly pretty dumb i ride my bike but you will never see me sharing a riadway with 2000lb death machines
Cyclists are typically entitled assholes but when you have a car drive who thinks the same… tragedy is bound to occur.
What am I talking about? Riding 2 or 3 wide just chilling and recreating down a one lane while people with places to be have to wait. Not saying this guy was like that just talking in generalities
I'd love to see areas set up to allow for biking and walking. This would typically mean higher population densities. Many of the other countries are set up differently. I'd also like to point out how dangerous it is to ride a bike with cars. Any mistake will damage the cyclist more than the driver, and people make mistakes.
This is why we need better bicycle infrastructure, this isn't fair he was killed by a 2 ton killing machine that hogs the roads, done by someone jealous of him being able to actually ride a bike I'm sure.
This is why I ride against the flow of traffic so I can see what's about to hit me especially no in this age of cell phones….

"…Peter hopes that drivers will do more to look out for them (bicyclists)…" I live in Seattle, and I'm a driver. I (do) go out of my way to look out for them, and to share the road with them. What I find frustrating though, is that a lot of cyclists don't do the same (share the road, or be defensive). I constantly see cyclists drive through stop signs into intersections (I nearly hit one last week because he blew threw a stop sign and rode into my path in front of me). I also find it frustrating when, I'm stopped at a stop light, a bicyclist rides in front of me as I'm waiting for the light to turn green, then rides out before the light turns green. As I said, I do share the road, and I actively am looking out for them, but not all accidents are the fault of the person driving the automobile.
Does the bicyclist rider actually mean "share the road" or is he referring to the other common practice to "take over the whole lane and impede traffic". I've seen the latter happen often. I can share just fine, but impeding traffic angers most drivers and is unsafe when visibility is limited and speed differentials are high.

This just makes me more worried about taking my bike out. Plus the new trend with kids hitting PEDS like it’s a video game worries me
