  2. @ 20 Minutes. Can't drive away if your 'charging' … Well here's another 'Emergency' scenario' …. Suppose, you're in a parking spot, with only one 'escape-direction' … and a human, or a vehicle blocks you. Suppose, either has a GUN . Will the Tesla's software prevent you from RAMMING a person or vehicle in front of you …? This is a LIFE OR DEATH situation. Will Tesla Software get you killed… ? … I WANT TO TURN IT OFF … TO SAVE MY LIFE !

  5. Sideways: My Tesla says there are 4 chargers available and you get there and there are 5 cars waiting. If people don't let Tesla know they're going to a charger station.. that can happen. The problem needs addressing. Where many people living in apartments have Teslas this can be the case.

  6. Western Australia Perth Fremantle used a driver less small bus taxi in Fremantle Port for 3 years it might be a good place /council willing to do atonomi FSD?

  7. I don't have much hope for FSD since the Tesla engineers don't seem to be able to make Autosteer work on a highway, a much simpler problem. Autopilot has always had issues with exit and entrance ramps, where the car tries to maintain the center of the lane so drifts into the ramp area and then corrects. This problem has gone from annoying to unusable in my 2021 M3 in the last month, where it now actually either alerts or actually disengages in places it used to get through easily. Why doesn't Tesla understand lane centering is the wrong approach, you want to track the inside lane (e.g. the left lane line if you are in the right lane, or the right lane line if you are in the left lane). The other lane line can be used to determine the lane width with a suitably long time constant so it won't drift significantly.

  8. The guy that’s always complaining about superchargers not being tow-friendly needs to learn how to back and perform a controlled jackknife, thereby placing his relatively short trailer angled/perpendicularly into the next parking spot. It won’t work everywhere, but in the video he showed today where the spot at the end was open as well as the spot next to it (the non-charging spot), it would have been the perfect spot to park and charge leaving his trailer attached.

  9. Lets face it- we have all become accustomed to what a truck looks like from 50+ years of getting served what is akin to canned coffee from Folgers (sorry Folgers). It was the only thing available. Trucks of old have never been attractive to look at- they are butt ugly. Tesla's Cybertruck is creative, new, aerodynamic, indestructible. They have an entirely new visual that will be tremendously attractive to more than 50% of the market. Its specs will blow away the competition. One thing that announcement does for the market is it makes Ford and GM+ all put their chips on the table- and commit-

Tesla now has 4 years of engineering advances, mfg advances, generational advances in market maturity…

Lets debate the entire package, including how ugly the old truck design is.

  10. I’m not particularly interested in the look of the Cybertruck, I’m interested in the paintless bodywork, the tough construction, the advanced suspension, the electric powertrain (inc. its efficiency and capability).
The look is interesting, unusual, perhaps even striking and that’s fine by me. So long as it carries a load well and is efficient and practical, I’m in!

  11. 53.15 min. In Glasgow Scotland it is 0.22p per mile as the cheapest 7KW charger costs 0.40 pence per kWH. This is really bad because my inefficient fossil fuel Car goes 28.5 mile per UKgallon / 23.73 mile/USGalon. One litre of petrol/fuel cost £1.40 (lowest price) so 1 mile costs 0.223p per mile in my car. In Europe right, now the electricity is way to expensive for switching to electric car, because the electric car charging costs even more then petrol car. The worst thing is that war in Ukraine is an excuse for keeping the electricity prices artificially high 🤬😡

  12. Tesla finally came out with a ute, (utility) but then they went all sci-fly bling and designed it stupid. Pity, that they did not make it a practical tradies vehicle for your average carpenter/plasterer/plumber/spark who all need to trundle around with roof racks holding pipes, timber, framing, tools etc. That stoopid shape does not help !

  13. The fact that the Tesla driver in California "knew" that when his car was on Autopilot it would always veer towards the guardrail at that particular spot in the road "every time he went past" (probably due to painted lines missing or faded at that location) should, in itself, clear Tesla from any liability in this case. This driver was intentionally "not paying attention" while he played "Words With Friends" or whatever on his phone "while driving." Who knows what a judge, especially one who may not like Elon Musk to begin with, will decide in this case. As for me, I think the only thing this driver's family should receive is a posthumous Darwin Award in recognition of his ill-fated decision to not only use his Autopilot on this stretch of road, but to play on his phone while doing so.

  14. It's an obsolete technology from the 1920s, the only reason the band hasn't been repurposed is because it has so little bandwidth that nobody wants it. EVs dropped AM because electric motors make noise in the AM band making an already unlistenable medium much worse. When FM was invented AM should have been phased out. Personally I haven't listened to AM for fifty years. The radio format that can be picked up everywhere is Satellite, that's what emergency services should be relying on.

  16. BREAKING: @elonmusk & @GregAbbott_TX will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for @Tesla's upcoming lithium refinery in Texas on Monday.

The $375M facility will refine battery-grade lithium hydroxide and be the first facility of its kind in North America.

  17. It's one thing to say it would be unethical not to let FSD vehicles on the road, so they will have to allow it. What about when it becomes unethical to let humans drive on the road because robo-taxis are safer? That sounds a little scary.

  18. Perhaps "We" should sue the utilities for anti-competitive monopolistic practices. And if politicians had a spine they could use the fact that China is adopting renewable energy at aan alarming rate thus creating a national security risk and force the utilities to get off their asses and allow Americans that want to go solar to do so without having to wait 3 years….absolutely ridiculous that in the land of the free we are constantly reminded of just how free we aren't
