In “Cry From a Far Planet” by Tom Godwin, Captain Hobart crash-lands on a distant and desolate planet, finding himself isolated with limited supplies and no means of communication. As he struggles for survival, he discovers remnants of an extinct alien civilization and encounters a poignant recorded message expressing the loneliness of the last of its kind. This revelation prompts Hobart to reflect on the impact of human actions and the parallels between his own isolation and the existential challenges faced by other species. The story weaves together themes of isolation, survival, and the consequences of interstellar exploration, offering a thought-provoking exploration of the emotional and psychological aspects of space travel.

Did he pull the trigger or not
No, I hate this. This is lazy writing. You either conclude the story or you stop here because lazy.
The most stupid thing with the story is the main plot. I understand that there might be a language barrier at first, but I call bs that humanity that is so advanced that they have FTL can't make a translation device? This problem should already have been thought of before building the 15 ships and why the hell would you have military vassals with people using military equipment in diplomatic means. There might be a reason for it but because they never mention it then they can't be excused. The language barrier problem is so stupid and then that they are just sending two men with advanced technology to unknown civilization that might hide their aggressiveness which then kill the people by just overpowering them with numbers and take the ship which was said to be easily usable. I know the story was about trust and all, but the plot just look stupid when they doesn't explain why humanity isn't trusting of alien life. Thinking 5 minutes of the tech we will have in the future, for example simple translation devices which we already are developing for language barriers on Earth and include that with an Ai that will be able to figure out the language very quickly and this whole story fall apart.
No complaints against the channel, keep up the good work.
Robot voice. Nope.
