  1. Did Tom just call They Live a "terrible movie"?

I get that this is not a movie channel, and it doesn't have any pretensions of being highbrow, but that was a particularly garbage take.

  2. I think the Dice Tower is starting to slip. You went more into quantity than quality. Reviews feel rushed. Live payed playthroughs look underprepared and, again, rushed. Video and audio quality doesn't seem relevant anymore. Now we can add AV desync to the list of things DT doesn't care about. Stop riding your status. Take care of your brand again.

  3. The time stamps are all messed up.
I think because a section of the video was cut out (you could tell in the beginning where the cut is), it ended up messing up all the time stamps

  4. It's just me or in this version the audio gets completely out of sync from the video? I think it happens after the "table talk", when a preview from Mark is missing in the video but the audio keeps going with him. Anyone else seeing it that way?

  5. Tom, if you think They Live is a terrible “shlocky” ‘70s film, you couldn’t be more wrong. Apart from the fact it was released in 1988, it was a prescient exploration of the media forces shaping our society. It has aged phenomenally well as social media and Fox News has shredded Western societies. Watch it again with the glasses on.

  6. Came here to defend They Live, but i see everyone else has that covered. 😎 I will point out that it's not "early '80s", its from 1988. It actually came out on the Election Day when George Bush got elected, which is brilliant marketing for this particular movie.

  7. Astro Knights would do well with DC Comics' Legion of Super-Heroes IP put on it. With 65 years of storylines, established heroes, villains and futuristic locations, it seems like a no brainer.

  8. Serious question if anyone can answer: how does one get into those super heavy hex-based war games? Is there a good game to start with that has a similar feel but not so much complexity that I need a stack of spreadsheets to play? I feel like they probably won't be my thing, but I'd like to at least give one a chance.
