Crowds are back with queues I've never seen before! | State of Disneyland 2024-09-18

It was the heat. Things had been quite slow the past couple of weeks. But not anymore. It was the heat. Today we find people in the streets EVERYWHERE, the fullest I’ve seen in some time, including some queues building in places I’ve never seen before. People are ready to go to Disneyland again!

Join us for a complete tour around the park. Every land and every attraction. We’ll talk about those crowds, what’s in the news (Reservation Calendar), as well as the usual PARK SCIENCE!

This is our State of Disneyland Report. This is Fresh Baked.

  1. Hi Dave! Glad to see you around at the park that Monday! My family and I were inside the parks, Monday, Wednesday, & Today(Thursday) and I can say this was definitely the busiest I have seen it in a WHILE! DCA on Wednesday was insane! The big rides like Guardians & Radiator springs didn’t drop below 100min. Monsters inc, soarin, & Toy Story were a steady 60min. Even jesses carousel was a steady 30 min for a few hours. It was insane this week! Hope you have a great weekend coming up! Fresh Baked!

  2. I think people cashed in their 3-day ticket deal before it expires. Wednesday was an anomaly because literally thursday, the following day, was back to lower wait times. I was not waiting for an hour for rides when I've gotten used to 30-minute waits for the past few months. I did mainly pin trading Wednesday, so i didn't see that day as a loss since i got some new pins from buying and trading. Still got some rides in. Rode matterhorn 5 times on the back breaker path, so i was happy as a clam.

  3. The only thing I can see as a possibility why they’re limiting reservations and people in the park is that if a guest pays $150 for a day at the park and it’s so crowded that they cannot enjoy themselves that is not good business. If I pay $150 a person to get into the park and they, let fewer people in then those people have a better experience. If they charge $150 a day to get into the park and the park is totally crowded and I cannot navigate to park or enjoy anything I’m not gonna wanna go. But I don’t think that’s the truth.

  4. We were there, Sun, Mon, Tues. Sunday was ok, but Monday and Tuesday were insane. There are discount tickets out, so parents are taking their kids out of school. Also, DCA closed early two of those days, which is bunk. Also, many rides being refurbished, so there more people wandering the park. I'm going a final time in January then not renewing my pass. Taking a break from Disney for several years. It's just not fun when it's so crowded. I will live vicariously through you and your videos. Thanks for the updates.

  5. A Disney algorithm is screwing passholders and the general public alike.. All that money for all that aggravation. If you are getting paid like you to got to the park, I can understand that. It's Groundhog Day every day at Disneyland.

  6. It has definitely been crazy since the temps dropped. I'm currently in a position where I have to drive my daughter to school because she didn't get housing this semester, so rather than double the miles, gas, and general wear and tear on my car travelling back and forth from home to Orange County, I go to the parks every day from Monday through Thursday and walk laps around the parks. Sometimes I'll jump on a ride, but most times I just walk. This last week or so since the temps dropped the laps have taken longer and there has been a lot more "people dodging" as I walk around the parks. I see FreshBaked! in the parks at least once a week. One of these days I'll finally say "Hi!" to David.

  7. Just an FYI, the Australian school holidays start on 21 September for 2 weeks. This will add thousands to the parks with every family with kids flying to LA is definitely going to Disneyland. You’ll hear a lot of Aussie accents, not so much in Florida as it takes 24 hours to get there
