Paul Hogan 48 years old and the movie Dundee He is unaware of his age; he once asked an Aboriginal elder when he was born, the reply was "in the summertime".
Have I not watched the girls in a while or something? I mean, Carly's hair is fabulous.
The 1st one was such a huge sleeper hit, and the sequel is fun too.
For Aussie movies I recommend Muriel's Wedding (1994), Rabbit Proof Fence (2002), Strictly Ballroom (1992), The Adventures of Pricilla, Queen of the Desert (1994), Breaker Morant (1980), and there was an excellent 3-part tv mini-series, A Town Like Alice (1981).
Cassie could you do a series reaction with Carly to McLeod's Daughters? It's right up your alley and something that actually is of your original favorite taste.
It's underrated and not many outside of Australia have seen it but The Lighthorsemen is a great Australian war movie. Based on true events in WW1 it is a low budget film but the charge of Beersheba is one of the greatest war scenes I've seen on film.
Lightning Jack is sooo funny!! Paul Hogan movie
Oh man, one of my favorite movies when I was a kid!!
The Castle or Two Hands, Two Hands was one of Heath Leader's first roles~!~
If you like the Fish Out of Water trope I highly suggest jungle 2 Jungle if you never saw that
They actually really got married.
The only part of this film that was really wrong is casting an Indian (Rico) as a Mexican. His speech and pronunciation is way off…
How delusional that you can buy an American state? Oh yea, isn't that how they got Alaska from Russia, The Louisiana Purchase from France, Florida East and West from Spain, Gadsden Purchase from Mexico, you bought the Philippines from Spain and then granted them independence post WWII…
Come to think of it Trump's idea of buying Greenland is not as unusual as you might think?
Been waiting for this, love the first one but this one is my favourite.
the Donk scene never fails to make me laugh
seeing the WTCs in that opening scene :/
You can't talk Australian films without the Mad Max franchise.
Wasn't Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor in Moulin Rouge Australian?
Everyone need a Donk!
He was calling Wally the kryptonite, thinking that Wally was Mic's mentor. The 3rd movie sucks and isn't worth watching in my opinion, but you do you lol. If you want to see a different take, Mic and Sue did another movie together called "Almost an Angel" which was pretty decent.
Took me three listens to figure out what galapolly was. ๐
Please watch Gallipoli & Breaker Morant.
Chopper, The Castle, and Two Hands are my fav Aussie movies after Crocodile Dundee.
Another excellent lesser known Paul Hogan film is "Almost an Angel" ๐๐
Oh my: it's pronounced "ga-lip-po-lee", Cassie.
Gallipoli "Gal-A-Poly๐
Cheers girls!….. Some good Auzzi words for ya…. Come on then (sounds like) karrn then… Go on then (sounds like) Garrn then….. Want more just ask ๐
The Lighthorsemen is a fantastic Australian war movie, very much in the mould of Gallipoli and more explicitly based on a true event. It has one of the greatest cavalry scenes in cinematic history.
I did nt even know there was a part 2..a pleasure looking at it AND 2 cute girls. But they became a couple IRL,did nt they ?
The guy that you asked about if he was American, Frank, was Gus Mercurio. An American/Australian. He was big in the sporting community, maily boxing. He also did some TV and films. A well liked guy. ๐๐ป๐๐ป
This film lost all the personality of the first film. The adventure in the first film was one anyone could do, just a normal guy in a normal situation. This action-adventure stuff was just not the same.
Donโt know if your aware but the crocodile that attacked sue in the first croc Dundee died recently his name was Bert he was 87 rip Bert
Imo, 2 is better than 1. Its a rare example of a superior sequel. The 'phone call' on the rocks has a special quality also…
FYI they got married after filming this โค
Seems like your sister only watches with you when you do chick flicks
From a storytelling and filmmaking standpoint, this movie is so paint by numbers that it cannot help but rank far, far below the original. As a Saturday afternoon popcorn flick, it was fine. If it weren't for Paul Hogan's inestimable charm and the USA's weird preoccupation with Australian stuff in the late 80's, nobody would remember it at all.
Nowadays I rewatch it for two reasons: Luis Guzman and the "DONK!" scene
