I do not own any of Critical Role’s footage, content, and or audio. I merely adore them, and like to theorize about their campaigns on the internet.

  1. Yes I was on the edge of my seat throughout this entire encounter. I was sensing that she was way too powerful for them to handle. Even with them ganging up on her the chances of them hitting her we’re low. But yes the only saving grace that I see right now is FCG using his revivify on Our beloved druid and hopefully she can bring back our halfling fighter

  2. I’m more surprised that imagin didn’t give In sooner. 2 of her friends died and she still didn’t give in. Personally I think Atleast 3 of them are gonna be dead. I don’t think they are coming back from this one.

  3. Great recap and discussion.

The fight was a little frustrating because the party didn't seem to know what they wanted to do. If they had run most of them might have gotten away but they kept starting to run, then turning back to fight. On the other hand, if they had just stood their ground and fought, they might have been able to overwhelm the boss. It's also true that they had some unlucky rolls on initiative and in combat that made it worse.

I'm more worried about Imogen than those who died at the moment because the probably will be able to revive them but she might be lost to us as an evil NPC now. I never even considered that they might be on the moon. That would be so insane.

  4. I think Matt has been holding onto this for a while, saving it for a no-win scenario. Something that he could set off like a nuke if everything became untenable.
He's been making the fight scenarios more & more difficult, and the Bells have responded by…dividing their team repeatedly.
I bet everyone will get zeroed out, then reset.

  5. I don't want PCs to die per se, but I LOVE for there to be actual danger, didn't feel like it previously that much. So I guess I kinda do want them to die at times. Good job Matt 😀

  6. Even if they do survive, they've burned all their bridges. This has been coming for a while. Sponsors will love it as the old fans have their faith restored and buy TPK shirts. Matt reminds them of the rules and consequences. A new party rescues BH from Ruidus, a year from now.

  7. Imagine this happens…

Stream opens. No Liam, no Ashley. Lore lore lore fades back to the battle field at Utana "happy" that Imogen did. Suddenly a few flashes boom boom boom everyone is blinded Liam enters again "take my hand, hurry" to one of the alive characters… Something similar happens with Ashley…. "we can leave our friends, Ashley: they are taken care of hurry… they follow Liam and Ashley's characters through the streets to the underground and lose Utanas (or is it Otahan.. idk) tail. (Sorry bad with names) The bounty hunter is also with them. They talk, turns out Ash and Liams characters are "partners" (maybe siblings, long friends, or lovers) hire by the bounty hunter woman who "got away" …. they either revive one or both, or even Luanda gets the revive… not gonna write my whole thoughts out but I think if something like this happens it would be cool

  8. "Dark Phoenix" moment is right. Or Empire Strikes Back. This isn't the end of the campaign, nor is it likely to be undone by some kind of miraculous deus "ex machina" (ahem). I guarantee this is a massive pivot point. Oh, and somewhere in the distance Brennan Lee Mulligan is rubbing his hands together and muttering "YESSSSSSS, my child. You are learning."
