Sky News host Steve Price argues there are likely players in Cricket Australia “too scared” to speak out in support of Australia Day.
“I would imagine that in that starting 11, and within the broader Australian cricket squad – there would be cricketers who are now too frightened to speak out and say I actually support the 26 January,” he told Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“Can you imagine what would happen if you were a cricketer who actually came out and said that.
“You’d be ostracised by the left, you’d be slammed by parts of the media.”
Mr Price’s comments come after CEO of Cricket Australia Nick Hockley had to clarify controversial remarks that he “didn’t believe” announcements about Australia Day would be playing over the loudspeaker at the upcoming Gabba Test in Brisbane on the day.

This is Cricket Australia fault, some one employed him and he or someone within Cricket Australia decided they were no longer going to support Australia Day EVEN AFTER THE VOICE WAS DEFEATED 60/40 and 650,000 people are more than over represented while the Majority of Australians are under represented.
I am a Naturalised Australian and I am a Pom who came to Australia in 1969 after I joined the Australian Army in 1983 and served until 2018, 35 years of service I have proven my loyalty to Australia and more so than most Australians.
I swore an oath to this country something more that those Australians born here don’t do, but mind you should by the way they treat this great country.
After 5 deployments I always said man to a man the Australian Soldier is head and shoulders above most other Armies and is one of the best Armies in the world, when we represent Australia most of us are polite and professional to others and have earned much more respect than most other Armies due to our initiative to achieve our missions which is also respected.
I understand the proud Traditions of the Australian Army as we were always reminded of them and I was brought up within those traditions of looking after your mates, the courage to speaking your mind and not worrying about the punishment for doing so, and the early 80s of contact counseling was expected. We took responsibility for our actions and other Armies respected us, and what is all this called, THE ANZAC SPIRIT.
We celebrate in the RSL around the country on ANZAC DAY with our more older respected retired diggers who are still with us, to most of us their presence is held in reverence while listening to their stories of years past even while we now have our own stories to tell we still hold them in awe.
Now through the years those of us who have served for quite some time or those who are still serving but coming to the end of their careers are becoming the new older generations.
So before generalising all POMs through this woke fool, who as no idea what’s it like to be a true Australian because once he has made his money will return to ENGLAND WHERE THEY ARE NOW GOING THROUGH AN IDENTITY CRISIS DUE TO ALL THE ILLEGAL EMIGRATION PROBLEMS.

If the British had never come in the first place, it is highly likely the east coast of Australia at least would be French. The Dutch might have claimed Tasmania and New Zealand both, and possibly parts of Western Australia as well. How would Australia be like today if it was never colonised by anyone?
