Crews carefully start removing first piece of twisted steel from collapsed Baltimore bridge

Teams of engineers worked Saturday on the intricate process of cutting and lifting the first section of twisted steel from the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge, which crumpled into the Patapsco River this week after a massive cargo ship crashed into one of its supports.

Sparks could be seen flying from a section of bent and crumpled steel in the afternoon, and the Coast Guard confirmed that work had begun to remove a section of the toppled structure.

Crews were carefully measuring and cutting the steel from the broken bridge before attaching straps so it can be lifted onto a barge and floated away, Coast Guard Rear Adm. 1. Hundreds of billions would be better spend at home to improve existing infrastructures and security, instead of fueling wars in Gaza and Ukraine.
A thought for the 6 victims in Portland and 30,000 children and women killed in Gaza with US billions and weapons…

  2. How long can it take to open a 700 ft passage with several huge cranes and divers who can cut large chunks into small chunks.. I'll be surprised if this takes even a week. I have faith USA has the skill and equipment to get it done.. I"m not saying it easy.. but I am saying its NOT rocket science with over 300 people working night and day. its totally something that can be done. The politicians will claim its a miracle it was done so fast.. I'm saying they are retards with a capitol "H", if its not done in a few days.

  3. A conspiracy theorist; a drunk engineer; a kid, would all want to study that bridge.

Not the current Army Corps of Engineers!

Maybe they have prayed to the heavens: for this to never happen again, & dont need an investigation?

    It fell like prom-panties!

  4. I find this to be questionable. The point of Easte weekend makes me see this as a planned catastrophe.

Perhaps persons on this boat are anti Christ.

This Baltimore strong speech sounds like the end of the War in Iraq

They will overcome. I just don't go for it.

  5. What is next? A bolt by bolt removal video. Sensationalizing a bridge collapse is not productive. The longer the news agencies keep 24 hour coverage and the sensationilizing of the death of 4 workers is tragic enough. There is no fault to be assigned, other than to the owners and operators of the barge..for a poor lack in judgement and not using the towboats to direct the barge. Which should be a mandatory use and expense included to substantiate maintenance and repair prior to an accident.

  6. To every Conservative Democrat, Liberal and Republican Constituent, let me be Crystal Clear! What we're seeing from the Radical Left Democrats and RINO's in our government, the Denial of Accountability and all the Crimes and Corruption that's Brazenly out in the open, why do you think they don't care if they hide it? One answer and let me be Clear. Because these Politicians know that there will be an Attempt to flip this Country to a Communist One Party Rule, the Uni-Party and those who have been Compromised are accumulating as much Wealth for themselves as possible, because if they are successful in their Attempt in changing our political landscape they will not have to answer for all the Crimes and Money they've stole from the Citizens of this Country.

  7. If rescuers were really concerned saving lives they’d grow a pair of nutts and risk the elements and get to searching. Too often in disasters the limp wrists soft hands rescuers use the same excuses oh it’s not ideal conditions right now so we have to wait..Do you think victims were waiting for the right time to get trapped or something???

  9. I bet in coming months/years we wi come across at least 900, 000 people who will swear they wwre the last one across the bridge.
Now if we could only get some factual answers as to how/why? I've heard dozens of conflicting reports that somehow disappeared (.scrubbed?) along with all video I've seen. Just disappeared magically.

  10. Here's the question that needs to be answered. How long was it known the boat was without power? As a port city Baltimore had to have tugboats docked nearby. Why weren't they used to divert it from hitting the bridge? Had that been done this wouldn't even be a news story. Who dropped the ball? Isn't this a Democratic run city?
