This is why more and more people are electing to not have kids.
Instead of earning money, kids are costing money, way more than the average family can afford.
It's no longer affordable to have 1-2 children in today's society, much less a family consisting of 5-8 children, unless the parents are wealthy.
The majority are not, and just can't afford it anymore.
Even my 2 older sons see how we struggle to keep food on the table, and pay exorbitant housing costs, and they are terrified of what it's going to cost when they are old enough, and have already expressed their desire to not have kids.
