I grew up in Illinois in the fifties, and we heard about the Windego. At first, I thought I heard ¨Basquewatch.¨ instead of Batsquatch:: an abominable snowman wearing a beret? ¨Sky Serpents¨ Could only be alien technology….strings of orbs…sure. People before the Twentieth Century didn´t know much about the universe. So, when they saw stuff in the sky, they had to think of something that it reminded them of.
When they saw spirits, devils, angels, demons, succubi, they didn´t know there were aliens…they didn´t have a word.

Brits are something else. If it's not snakes the sky, then it's a floating log they call the Loch Ness Monster. When will it ever end with their irrational assumptions? The snake in the sky was likely a cloud in all these cases. People see what they want to see is all. You have one person say "Look its a snake!" everybody else looks up w snake on their mind, see the same cloud maybe even with a mouth and eyes, fangs and go "Yes it IS a snake!!" while others keep quiet looking at the cloud, saying to themselves: "Oh jeeze. Not again."

Thank you for the update, David..!! 4:32 That's fascinating. I heard a similar story about a giant turtle giving a sword to the King of Vietnam long time ago, in order to defeat the invading army. When the war was won, the turtle reappeared and asked for his sword back. The turtle got the sword back and everyone was happy.

Second, after hearing and reading about certain legends, folks stories and the like, it could be that under certain conditions other realities or dimensions might touch, creating a short lived way that creatures from one world might enter or cross through ours.
