  16. I'm not against you, but hopefully, we report fairly. I know you're Protestants, so you always quote from the Protestant perspective. But the truth is:
    Catholicism first arrived in the United States before the Protestant Reformation, with the arrival of Spanish and French missionaries in the 16th and 17th centuries:

    Spanish missions

    Spanish conquistadors and settlers established missions in present-day Florida in 1513, Georgia, the Carolinas, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. The first Catholic Mass in the United States may have been celebrated in 1526 at the Spanish Mission of San Miguel de Gualdape, in present-day Georgia, North Carolina, or Virginia.

    French missions

    The French established missions in New Orleans and other French territories.

    English colonies

    Catholicism was introduced to the English colonies with the founding of the Province of Maryland in 1634.

    The Catholic population in the United States grew during the 19th century when millions of Catholic immigrants arrived from Europe, including Ireland, Germany, Italy, Poland, Mexico, and Lithuania.
