  1. My Question is, what difference would substituting a Arleigh Burke-Class Flight 3 for the Ticonderoga, and the Russian Gorshkov class with the Kirov Class, make, by really putting some ultra-hard hitting anti-ship capability in there

  2. I would like to see if the British could have won in the asia pacific theater against japan during the second world war if they had commited an equal number of (period) modern ships as opposed to the older models that were sent.

  4. Unless it was a large number of ships they'd get saturated by aircraft pretty easily. As demonstrated in the Falklands, modern ships are quite vulnerable to WW2 era bombs even when they don't go off.

  5. Only 4 modern destroyers vs all these WWII ships?. How many missiles and rate of fire can moder weapons provide for a long term conflict if traveling in time to the past?. Not enough I think, sorry..

  6. Your computer should be demoted to deck sweeper! Real officers would allocate targets and switch based on results. No ships would ever get to gun range! Apaches should only target destroyers.

  7. Reminds me of the book *Future Weapons*, very good. Premise is a modern coalition fleet travelling back to Midway, but everything turns quickly into a disaster

  8. What???? No Mark 46 Torpedo's to fire at the Yamato? You guys have to include a Submarine or two. A Naval attack group ALWAYS has a submarine or two for forward observation and support.
