its amusing how both CoH 1&2 fanbase keep forgetting how bad their game where at launch …especially the 2nd one was shit on launch.
And now Relic has an fanbase issue, aka their fanbase is really split on two types of gameplay styles (I personally like both, CoH2 style more)… now it seems Relic is trying with the 3rd one to make it more of a hybrid. CoH3 seems to have more promising launch than either CoH1&2 ….will it make the 1&2 fanbase happy?…doubt it but pre-sales (& wish-listing) have at least on steam really high so at least that is promising/good sign. I do hope CoH3 succeeds not just for Relic or CoH-series sake but for RTS genre as a whole, RTS really needs a big sale success now (because RTS is considered kind of a dead genre)
but I don't think the hardcore fanboys of CoH 1 & 2 will jump to CoH3 …because there are fanboys that don't like any changes and just want the same old with newer paint.
also when I have read the recent complaints from these fanboys why they don't like CoH3 its usually superficial subjective preferences and the unwillingness for changes is so obvious

I wonder how helpful partisans are in combat
so soldiers only engage at melee ranges now heyy, even in a medieval game, arrows have more range..not playing this until mods come out (im a fan of coh 1 and coh 2)

Now this game is starting to look like something. Before this it was like playing the toy soldiers game… Instead of going for more realistic looking graphic (like they should) they went backwards. CoH 1 was looking better. I am looking at CoH 3 to be with more realistic graphics and better unit AI than CoH 1 (more like highly upgraded CoH 1).
