  1. As someone who recently started Chaos Daemons, the Combat Patrol is the most two-sided thing. On the one hand collecting Khorne has never been easier, on the other hand he’s my least favourite of the big four and surely they could’ve put out three more CP boxes for the other gods. Ever since they stopped doing Start Collecting boxes collecting any other daemons so far has been a right bitch

  2. The only issue with the GSC box is the magus. Ignoring the fact that she has crappy rules, if you're running cult you eventually will want a Broodcoven, which comes with another magus, and you're definitely not wanting multiple.

  3. The CSM box actually sucks. You have a charcter than can't join any of the units in the box, a heavy weapon unit in an army that favours melee, and the Helbrute might have ok rules but your troops are going to be slogging up the board on foot.

Swap tha Havocs for Chosen or Possessed, and the Helbrute for a Rhino, then you'd have a good box.

  4. I won't lie, with the baby carrier buff, the grey knights combat patrol is legitimately the best combat patrol in 10th edition

You'd be 3-5 of those mfs, to get mixture of marines and grandmaster/standard baby carrier, and the only downside is two spare librarians, which you could alt-scheme and swap in

  5. I was with you until you got to the guard one, and then the comment on the guard start collecting. I think the guard start collecting was fine, but the new combat patrol is very repurchaseable and I think the tank is not the most necessary thing in a guard starter army. I have like three of them, they are so nice for everything you need a boots on the ground guard army to be. In between buying more combat patrols, I'd throw in a vehicle.

  6. I honestly love the new guard box, ill eventually get around to picking up two more of them when i get back to playing guard again. The reason is pretty simple, i fucking hate tanks. Every time, and i mean every single damn time, i bring tanks, they have failed me. The sentinels do exactly what i expect, the infantry always end up spiking but the tanks? just failures.

  7. Chaos's Combat Patrol is amazing, however I would highly recommend against buying multiple. There's no reason you would ever want more than one Dark Apostle and Legionnaires are not popular at all because of how prominent and similar in cost Chosen are and how much better they perform despite a 20 point cost nerf. For that reason I would keep it at an A but more like a 89.99%, like a B+ or A- or something.

  8. Regarding the Canoptek Swarms in the Necron box: The Canopteks are on the Warriors' sprue out of the factory, so any time you buy warriors you are also buying the swarms, whether you want them or not. However, they are good for filling out that little bit of extra space you have in your point costs and can make for good interference units. You just don't ever need more than a few.

  9. Necrons patrol should be a. Scarabs are insanely good, along with everything in it. The jetbikes used to be the basic unit that carried eldar. So great if u just get 2 and the rebalance makes them vital again

  10. Sororitas player here: the builds of our Combat Patrol are weird. The Repentia and Flagellant numbers are so bizarre and you can't get a max sized unit of either without 3-4 buys. Further, the Sisters Squad is monopose and hard locked to a very bizarre loadout (though kitbashing can help with this).

Plus side: the sculpts for a lot of these models are VERY nice. The Repentia Superior with the flaming brazier power pack is peak Sisters design, and a lot of the monopose models are very nicely designed (the flamer sister especially).

  11. About the BT combat patrol, does anyone who sees this comment happen to know any good 3rd party vendors for alternative heads? I'm envisioning my initiates looking more like Fabio or a power-metaller in terms of hairdo, not Blackadder the first.
