🎙️ Lyrics:
Come up to meet you, tell you I’m sorry
You don’t know how lovely you are
I had to find you, tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart
Tell me your secrets and ask me your questions
Oh, let’s go back to the start
Running in circles, coming up tails
Heads on a science apart
Nobody said it was easy
It’s such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh, take me back to the start
I was just guessing at numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart
Questions of science, science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart
But tell me you love me, come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start
Running in circles, chasing our tails
Coming back as we are
Nobody said it was easy
Oh, it’s such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard
I’m going back to the start

  1. Been a long time since I'm hearing this song, and came back to listen to it to calm down someone who has so much anger issues.

Thank you, Coldplay, for calming me down during my breakdowns and losing all my temper.

  2. after listening to this song repeatedly, I finally figured out its a song about navigating LIFE as a whole, its ups and downs, relationships, and regrets and starting over "take me back to the start"

  4. Just lost my dad a week and half ago… this song seems to sum up the last few weeks i had with him. Talking about past present future talking about how it was when he was younger when he had us what he did in his life and what will happen after hes gone… went full circle… its hard to lose a parent… only those who have lost one know how hard it is… this songs sums it all up very well.

  5. As I start to get older, I notice my friendships tend to drift apart more, maybe because I stop being 'cool' to them, maybe because of busy lifestyles, and that's all valid, but man does it sting.
I come back to this song every time it happens.

  6. I barely comment anymore, but here goes. Jan 5, 2023 – this song has only started making sense after I realised I may lose someone I love. Someone has written out every word I feel. Thank you for that. It's so devastating. Wishing I could go back to the start, sigh.

  7. As someone who is finally getting treatment for years of untreated PTSD this song really hits me in the feels. I listen to this and it causes me pain a pain that is not real but I still feel it. With that being said it is a good thing. I have needed to feel this pain and learn to cope with it in a healthier way, let myself know I'm just stuck in a lop and this song is wonderful it keeps me wanting to be my own 'scientist' and get to what started this all and finally start doing what needs to be done to take my life back despite how uncomfortable it is proving to be. Stay strong if you know what I am saying friends. Time will heal.

  8. My uncle passed away due to drugs and this was his funeral song, Him and my great grandpa were so close so this song reminds me of both of them together and then I have my mamaw on my dads side that died due to sickness, and i have a watch and dumbo piggy bank to remind me of her and I’m sitting on my bed wiping tears rubbing a watch listening to this song crying my heart out
