It's so touching to see how much he loves grandma and misses her. I'm so sorry to hear that she broke her hip and I pray that she will make a full recovery. When my on had to go into a nursing home after living with.us for 25 yrs, I used to take my2 dogs and my sun conure parrot every Sunday to see her. She loved it and so did they. They missed grandma. I used to go see her very day after work and she always asked where they were

It's just awful to keep a cockatoo without a conspecific. Parrots are flock birds!
