Awesome video! I'll never forget the first time I killed a rattlesnake. I was about 12 years old by myself about an hour and a half hike off a mountain. I killed it cut the head off and carried down the mountain. I kept freaking out because it kept trying to bite me and coil up around my arm. Even though I knew it couldn't bite me it still startled me at times.
You're better off using the canning salt than table salt. The only difference is table salt has additives in it like stuff to keep it from clumping up. So canning salt is the purest form of salt.

I'm glad to see that you saved the skin and that's exactly how I do my snake skins minus the salt. I also flesh mine before pegging them down to a board, rattlesnake skins look awesome on bow limbs and guys will pay good money for a nice pair of rattler skins.

Dude ya should take a walking stick with you when out traipsing around out in the fields and such to tap the ground and "walk ahead of you" so you can perhaps put the issue of you almost stepping on those things, this isn't the 1st time it seems to happen alot to you…. be more aware of your surroundings sir!!! be more cautious and preventative maintenance (also use this thought for boats, trucks and toys with oil changes, tire checks, packing wheel bearings fluid top off etc so ya don't get stick when out away from house)..thankfully ya have seen them before hand!! .just a few thoughts
