Pothinus, an enemy of Cleopatra, secretly plans a revolt with Achillas, leading an army from Pelusium to Alexandria. Despite being outnumbered, Caesar prepares for the defense of the city and sends for reinforcements. Meanwhile, Arsinoe, Cleopatra’s sister, escapes the palace with Ganymede and is declared queen by Achillas’s troops, setting the stage for a battle for the crown.
