  2. I used to joke that every project would make the house explode before we could get it back together. Just like when you move, the boxes take up twice as much room as when everything is put away.

  3. Hi Laura you should reconsider having a corner window it's worth it. Remember when you do a renovation or any building work you can easily add 50 per cent more to the cost, always. Triple glazing is also worth the cost. Just a thought best wishes from Ireland.

  4. I had been keeping bags and boxes of pictures (a pile up to my chest) that my two older boys had drawn in the attic. Trouble was, I left them there when we moved to another house and kept the original house has a rental, and they've since been ratted. And judgement day is here, as I will have to clear out the attic as we have sold, and settlement day is 14th June. Actually, just as I was typing this, it occured to me I could take photos of them, before throwing them away. 🙂

  5. I got my youngest son to help me clean out our attic about 6 weeks ago. We had a full car to go to the recycling centre and 2 full cars to go to the charity shop. And that was just a quarter of the attic, the rest was empty. All I have left is Christmas stuff few small keepsake boxes and suitcases and that takes up 3rd of the attic and it's not a big attic.

  6. Re Covid – I treated our household to one of those finger thingys to record oxygen % as I was concerned I was breathless. And oddly oxygen % was fine, but it also recorded heart rate, and that was often 110ish when I felt breathless. Anyway, they're fun!

  7. Happy Anniversary! Top Tip: For momentos and treasures you feel you want to rid yourself of but find yourself attached to, take a photo of them and then discard the item. Otto is adorbs!

  8. You know what. It would pay you to board just a part of the loft so you can move it up there now before the building work starts. I know you planned to do it at some point but even if you got a couple of boards and temporarily put them there, you could move the boxes up there. Xx

  9. Laura, you may find that Otto will do "down" more consistently on carpeted floors. My pup stopped doing down consistently and as it turns out she doesnt like the feeling of her elbows on the hard floor. Otto seems to be doing something similar to her "pretend down" 😅

  10. Otto is so cute! its normal for puppies to get naughty and test their limits and become more active hehe.. its a phase, it will pass and he will aventually grow out of it. Just keep teaching him all the comands, you did it great, you didnt give up until he did what you asked of him! He is so adorable! <3

  11. Since you have so many rooms a well set out storage room might be good. Shelving would be better than cupboards and labelling is essential. But a big house is like a big handbag – we fill both to capacity.😅

  12. Otto is growing up soooo fast! I mean, they all do, but you can literally tell the difference between every video! And oh my the drama about the food! He knows he’ll be fed but all the urgency… hilarious. My dog knew all the commands but whenever I had a treat for him and asked for his paw (which was usually be a sit – paw – now the other paw – now down – he would do all 4 at once just to get the treat… they are so smart!

  13. The old iPhones were a much better size 😁 I keep nothing in my loft. Christmas goes in a wardrobe in the spare room. Everything else is used and I keep minimal spares. For example bedding one set per bed and two spares. (4 beds)

  14. Decluttering clothes: Sort what you want to keep, and then hang everything back in the wardrobe, but hang the hangers on the rail BACKWARDS. After this initial "backwards-hang" you go on as normal. So the first thing you've worn and washed, once it goes back in the wardrobe, you put the hanger on the rail the correct way around. Over time you can visually see what items have/haven't been worn, because some of the hangers will still be on the rail the wrong way around. I could see looking at the rail that over 6 months I'd only worn about 10% of my wardobe! P.s. Happy Anniversary!💕

  15. Watch your tone of voice when giving doggie commands. Sit. Stay. Add exclamation if imperative sit! Stay! ! Even voice, no question mark upturn at the end of the command (-not- sit??) You notice how he did go down when your voice was commanding vs asking a question? He wants an alpha to lead & set expectations. You & Ollie need to consistently give him an alpha. Both humans need to use even vocal inflection so he knows he can't run to daddy/mummy if he doesn't like what the other told him. That said, he is a dog, not a human. Training for both have similarities but need to remember he's a dog 🙂

  16. I do mayor hauls every year and every other month I am checking 'stuff'. I hate consumerism, so it is not tough for me. Also, with 2 kids and 2 dogs and working a full-time job, I hate too many objects. More to clean and to keep up. I prefer to have whatbI need and what makes me happy. I couldn't have a room in disorder and chaos all the time
