About Clanfolk:

Clanfolk is an elaborate, challenging life sim set in the highlands of medieval Scotland. Live off the land, survive and grow your Clan’s settlement. Every tile on the map has a purpose and where you place your settlement, and how you build it, really matters. The largest threat to your Clan will be nature itself and while food will initially be plentiful and the nights warm, as the seasons change resources will dwindle and careful planning becomes critical. Surviving your first winter won’t be easy…

Choose where to begin your homestead, in a wilderness surrounded by mountains, forests, grasslands, and lakes. Over time you may develop it into an industrial farm, or a livestock ranch, or a bustling trading post, or a quiet forest Inn, or maybe a hidden mountain fortress.

Create unique structures, use fire to light rooms and vent heat to adjacent buildings, till the land, harvest, and care for livestock.

From birth until death, your clan will live their whole lives over multiple generations. They’ll follow daily schedules, wake before sunrise, take their morning meals, wash, change and have conversations before the day begins. Throughout the day, they will work as hard as their mood and health will allow and in the evening, they finally come back together to eat, drink and sleep before they do it all over again.

Grow your clan’s skill proficiencies that can be passed down from generation to generation. See to their needs of hunger, sleep and warmth, tend to their moods and nurture your clan through multiple life stages (babies, juveniles, adults, seniors).

Visitors will occasionally arrive from neighbouring clans surrounding your homestead. Over time your reputation with these clans can grow based on how they are treated as guests, workers, or traders. As your reputation with them increases, contact will strengthen, providing better opportunities.

Each neighbouring clan comes from a unique biome filled with different products and desired items for trade. The savvy player can run a profitable trading post if there is enough trade traffic from these neighbouring homesteads. As seasons progress, different items become more scarce and therefore more expensive.

Winter in Clanfolk is always approaching and your time needs to be spent wisely. Each Season has ranges of temperature, rain, snow, wind, and even windchill. Some seasons are for growing and others for harvesting. Winter is for staying inside a warm and cozy room toprocess the materials collected throughout the year.

Seasons play a key part in Clanfolk’s gameplay, with environmental effects (such as moisture) impacting on flammability of objects or ground fertility. Understanding season transitions and being prepared for them is key to survival.

  1. The house is coming along nicely! 😀 I don't think you ever explained: what are you planning to do with those 40 (!) water jugs?

You put Huchon on time-off mode when you were trying to get him to hunt at night, which is why he wasn't working the following morning.

The kiln and charcoal kiln are not affected by rain, but in the winter it's nice to have them indoors because they contribute to keeping the house warm.

X is the hotkey to delete/deconstruct the selected object.

  2. Thanks for another great video! This is my new coffee ritual. Watching the daily video and taking notes on all the things I need to fix while the caffeine kicks in 🙂

  3. Just wondering if the developers were going to make a Scots Gaelic version? I would think that having a Scots Gaelic speaker reviewing that would increase the Authenticity of the game play. Maybe even have the map be the Scottish highlands?

  4. The girl named Lisa was formerly known as Hellen, lol. This is a nice game, I like the graphics, kinda reminds me of Lords & Villeins you reviewed awhile back, which I also enjoyed.

  5. One thing I used to do in rimworld that may work for here is after say a full day of work, set a couple people just as a whole day of hauling just so you are on top of it. Rinse and repeat. Love the series thank you =)

  6. Things are really shaping up now. It's kind of funny that the crafting house has higher level material than the sleeping area, though it's for a very good reason. 😛

  7. Wait a sec… is there no zoning for farms? do you have to constantly tell them where to plant and when to harvest? that seems like an incredibly anoying bussywork…. or is the land tilling like a zoning tool? hmmm
Do you always have to explode the hay stacks? Can your pawns move or dismantle them themselves when needed? again that seems like a more bussywork…

  8. I like how, in games like this, everyone always makes a million things "top priority" and then wonders why nothing else gets done.
"We need to clear and replant two entire lakes! Znak!"

    A few minutes later…

"Why is no hunting or faming happening? What is wrong?"
