CITADEL, Act One – The Hollow Moutain



“Join the Wanderers and uncover the Citadel’s darkest secrets.”

“CITADEL” is an ongoing game project that I have been developing using Media Molecule’s software suite “Dreams”. All of the evironments and characters were crafted from scratch. The sound effects are stock effects that came with my copy of Dreams. The music has been realised using Dreams’ sound creation tools.

The game was an attempt at channeling the general look and feel of games from thatgamecompany (“Journey”, “SKY: Children of the Light”) or Team Ico/Fumito Udea (“Ico”, “Shadow of the Colossus”, “The Last Guardian”). It is also a sequel to my 2020 Dreams game “ISLANDS”.

In the first act, origially released in 2021, the Wanderers make their way to the mysterious Citadel, a mighty fortress that hides the dark secrets of a sunken culture.

This particular scene shows the game’s third area, “The Hollow Mountain”, where the Wanderers uncover one of the dark secrets behind Citadel’s legendary power.
