..He had the RIGHT stuff!!
That early AI simulation, man…
Must be animated simulation day.
Oh, he had to say that or the other guys would beat the hell outta him and say it was coyotes.
You forgot a that in the title
It's such a treat to see these guests and interviews.
What a shame that YouTube wasn't around so that Johnny could do something like this, I don't know if he would've but it'd have been great.
Dude is one of a kind ❤
Excellent art direction. Would love to see more best of, Re fast and creative problem solving. ❤
Chuck was clearly a riot.
Have any Beeman’s?
He's a legend is Chuck Yeager. All the X-plane test pilots were absolutely fearless, putting their lives at risk flying these experimental aircrafts to the limits, just so US military/agencies could pursue research into high-speed aircraft.
Chuck Yeager was the first pilot to break the sound barrier at Mach 1 (660 mph) in 1947 with the X-1.
And the X-15 aircraft flown by test pilot William Knight in 1967, reached a top speed of Mach 6.72 (4,520 mph). The X-15 aircraft holds the official world record for the fastest manned aircraft in history.
The fact that the record hasn't been beaten in over 50 years, shows how incredible the test pilots and X-planes were.
Rip, sweet prince
An actual hero
The airport named after him can be a wild landing.
“Who’s the greatest pilot I ever saw? Well, there’s a lot of them. But there was one…who’s the best pilot I ever saw? Well, you’re looking at him!” Chuck Yeager 👈
That voice. I had Chuck Yeager's Flight Simulator on my computer as a teen… really takes me back! That was a cool game.
Wow, what a hero. I’d be biting my tongue not to ask him how big his balls were. He trained astronauts! Incredible. And Brother Theodore to boot!!??? C’mon this is brilliant.
Love Chuck's mischievous sparkling eyes and laughter.
😂😂
A Dunphy classic.
4,520??? I get scared at 200mph but that’s in a car lol
Additionally, when Chuck broke the sound barrier in the X-1, the whole thing was top secret, so his great accomplishment was not publicized at the time.😢
Wait a sec, where's the Brother Theodore segment?! Chuck was great but he wasn't quite the legend that was Brother Theodore.
Brilliant interview. A true American hero. 🇺🇸
You can tell that this guy had endless courage and a brilliant mind.
I took a cruise down Chuck Yeager Rd, just outside Beale AFB, in Northern Calif. Back around the covid lockdown time.
Quiet, quaint country drive…
The word "hero" is tossed around these days, but General Yeager really was one.
October 14th 1997, the 50th anniversary of breaking the sound barrier, my kids and I were at the Airshow at Edwards AFB to hear Brigadier General Chuck Yeager do it again. I can't remember at what altitude he was flying, but when the PA announcer said that "Brig. Gen. Chuck Yeager is over head and making Mach 2," the place went dead quiet. Then maybe 30 seconds later…a muffled boom, The place went crazy. Years later I found out that the F-15 he was flying that day was HIS…it was a retirement gift from the Air force.
The fastest man alive , thx General
Best flying stories ever…
