  1. Does everything he can to prevent injury or death, stays at the scene, gets arrested with the book thrown at him. His life’s already ruined before the knee jerk charges.

There should be a float committee that says yay or nay to load limits on certain vehicles ect, max occupancy. His load has to have been to much for the grade, or he wasn’t using trailer brakes which would be an obvious reason for brake failure being pushed down grade with that much weight.

Meanwhile the recent club shooter, was arrested last year for terrorist threatening with a bomb, all charges dropped nothing pursued, and then he shoots over 25 people the following year.

  2. I'm not understanding, maybe there is more than this video shows. But if the vehicle malfunctioned/mechanical issues, why would the driver be arrested? He didn't do anything wrong? He even had passengers get out and try to warn people to get out of the way? Given the crazy wackos going around now killing people at public events, I don't blame him one bit for being armed, you'd be a fool to leave your house without being able to defend yourself. None of this makes sense. It just sounds like an accident he didn't intend to happen.

  3. Why's it so hard for the news to say this was an accident. I feel horrible for the family of the girl but some of the charges on this young man is ridiculous. Reckless driving? Come on the the truck was in the middle of the road. Yes he should not have had a gun concealed without permit. He should have left it in the opening but hello let's not forget the crowd that comes to this event and not only that Raleigh's crime rate is crazy high

  4. There's one important thing that everyone's either forgetting or is unaware of – this guy got his truck lifted. Lifted trucks by default have a higher centre of gravity and take longer to stop. Add in a possible scenario where he got his truck lifted at a shitty mod shop who cut corners and you've got a big hunk of wheels that can't get a solid grip on the road

  5. If only he complied intead of avoid inspection four times! Wht would have happened if he went to inspection- Simple: truck inspection -> fails inspection -> truck off road. He knew that would prob happen. He pumped his car up trying to make it jacked up with crap to look cool: different wheels, etc. His fault 100%

  6. Most people in the comments are flat out stupid. “He should have put it in neutral.” Putting a vehicle in neutral will not stop the vehicle from rolling. “Why didn’t he hit a pole?” The streets were lined with people. “He could have put it in park”. Yes, he could have but with the size of the trailer he was pulling and the down hill grade would have prevented the parking paw from engaging and if it did engage would have probably sheared. “He could have pulled the emergency brake.” That is the best option available in this situation but giving the age of the vehicle I doubt it was working. People neglect emergency brakes when it comes to maintenance. Either 1. The shoes have never been changed. 2. They were removed when he last installed new pads. 3. Whoever performed the lift disconnected the actuating cables. When people install such mods, especially DIYers seldom follow through with the emergency brakes. That’s another thing people, “brakes” “break” but “breaks” will never “brake”. You see that people? They are two separate words with entirely different meanings. They are not the same. Damn.

  7. That’s so bs dude it’s terrible what happens but he couldn’t help is trucks brakes failed that is something that is a factory thing. As for the fire arm ok fine I can’t argue with that as it’s was wrong (even tho I fail to see the big deal about it as a little girl was killed by a truck but what the hell). But getting arrested for his truck malfunctioning because it lost brakes tf he was he supposed to do like genuinely. Instead of arresting a man for something he couldn’t stop and I’m sure is scarred. Why can’t we give support to the family and try and comfort them. Arresting the man put no calming thoughts in the family’s mind as it was a complete failure of a vehicle.

Sorry this bothered the hell out of me and just wanted to say my peace. I pray for the daily and hope they find peace. I hope the man and that little girl’s family and support each other and hold each other up through a tragedy.

  8. The commonwealth attorney needs to upgrade the charge to manslaughter. He failed 4 vehicle safety inspections and still decided to participate in a parade. The level of callous disregard that takes is unconscionable

Accidents happen that is why they are called accidents just because it is a tragic accident doesnt meen some one has to go to jail sorry for your loss but he didnt kill your kid on purpose dont try and destroy a young mans life he already has to live with what happened that should be enough all you calling for prosecution are idiots

  10. I'm confused about a lot of things.
1: why was he arrested at all if he was trying to warm ppl that the truck was out of control?
2: he wasn't even going that fast. How come he couldn't have just put the truck in neutral or just cut the ignition off?
3: how in God's green earth was a kid killed? The truck didn't appear to be going that fast. There was plenty of time for anybody to get out of the way.
4: how can you have a law that prohibits a law abiding citizen with no record from being able to carry a handgun at a parade?
This news report is just all kinds of misinformed or the news station is just reporting false information.

  11. Push in the clutch.. Shift out of gear.. TURN OFF THE Key/IGNITION. Hit the BRAKES until the truck grinds to a halt and engine stalls… Pull the EMERGENCY brake.. STOP the TRUCK.. Young man was never taught these simple things? Whoever put him behind the wheel at this parade should also be held accountable.. So sad for the family of the deceased girl..
