Running for your life from a burning, demonically possessed car? I have the solution! Run right down the middle of a paved highway!!! Don't go off road where the landscape might be prohibitive for a car! I wanted to criticize the first punk killed for not simply sitting on that cement medium, able to jump from one side to another all night long whatever direction Christine came from. Maybe Carpenter was channelling the book in which the evil past owner could appear to terrorize a victim when Christine could not get close enough. One victim was safely waiting in their house while the car methodically ploughed through a mountainous snow bank outside. The owner, corpse-like, appeared to give him a fatal heart attack.
One thing that is fact about this movie – Every high school in America has at least one Buddy ( The shop class guy who's 3 or 4 years older than everyone) and dresses like a character from the movie Grease or 1990's grunge Cobain
Cassie, in the 1960's and early '70's we bought and sold operational cars for $50 to $500 The car I took my driver's test in 1967 was a 1960 Rambler American I paid $50 for . it used about a quart of oil every 10 miles! Those were the days…. 😂😂❤❤
Christine was a 1958 Plymouth Fury. I love your reaction to her when she rebuilds herself. You should try and watch The movie Carrie and then watch The Blair Witch Project.
Great film, fairly close to the book. The car, as others have noted is a 58 Plymouth Fury. One of my dream cars is a 59 Dodge Custom Royal…just love the 57-59 cars, design heavily influenced by the space race. Love your reactions Cassie, have you considered 50s era cheesy horror flicks?
OMG, the guy who plays Dennis, John Stockwell, went on to play Cougar in Top Gun. This was his 5th movie. And Roseanne is played by Kelly Preston of all people!
If you liked "Christine", you may want to check out the 1977 movie "The Car". It's another horror flick about a possessed car, but I think it's actually scarier than Christine.
“It felt fun, which is weird to say because it’s a bunch of people getting killed” I think most horror fans can relate to getting into the genre and having these thoughts at first. It’s often a misunderstood genre of movies where the audience can be confused for sadists or weirdos, but I always think about the roller coaster analogy: It’s a fun amusement park experience that many people love, but at the end of the day, it’s just an adrenaline rush because you’re tricking your body and your brain that you’re about to die.
Glad you liked the movie! Stephen King really knows how to write young characters coming of age.
You know the pretty blonde in the movie? That's John Travolta's wife. The guy that played the detective played Molly Ringwald's dad in the movie Pretty In Pink. The actor that played Dennis was in the beginning of Top Gun. He was the best pilot till the MIGS scared him and Tom Cruise helped him land on the ship.
Call the ball Couger!
That bully looks like Ronnie James Dio with L chops

Bit of trivia Cassie, the language had to be played up in order to get an R rating otherwise it was going to be PG13.

There's lots of stories of parents killing their kids on utube.
