  1. Nearly 9 million children die every year before they reach the age of 5. Any god that would allow millions of innocent children to suffer and die like this, can either do nothing for these children, or has no care to. Therefore we are left with three options: God is either impotent, or He is evil, or He is imaginary.

  2. "Godless people exist too." You say that as if there was some direct correlation between the evil we see in the world, and the number of people who don't believe in your one specific flavor of God. Here's some food for thought: Did you know that the majority of prison populations are overwhelmingly Christian? Or that many secular nations tend to report higher standards of living and the lowest crime rates compared to most religious nations?

  3. Spot on.
As a Christian, it should sadden us that God created the brilliant George, yet George , beloved George, could not grasp it.
Bet he did in the very end🙂🙂🙂
    He GOT it.
    I believe that.
And…just always so amazing to watch his magic.

  4. For me, it's religion, not God that is the issue. I'm a spiritual person, but I don't believe in organized religion – men creating rules to control the masses – free will is one of our greatest gifts, the need to control that is not Godly, it's manly. . . I also think this routine of his is hysterical. lol

  5. It's so refreshing and uplifting to have this reality check. If there was any proof of God being real there would be no need for faith. And if the bible Hod was real, we'd have to kill it in order to have peace on earth. ☕️😎🦘

  6. Ok… I'm not really someone that comments often, but I'd like you to take a few minute to think about this…
EVERY Agnostic/Athiest has READ/Studied the Bible from cover to cover… not the BS spouted by Priests or Pastors. George grew up and went to Catholic School… There are a lot of Inconsistencies and Hypocrisy in the book. That is if you read it, and not go by how the clergymen "interpret" the WORD to match their personal Beliefs, Racism and Bigotry. Maybe if you do a little research on how Religions have evolved, you'd understand a bit better?
From primitive man to before the Bible, men have used GODS as a way to explain NATURAL occurrences, from weather to death. Cultures were Matriarchal before MAN decided they wanted to subjugate women, much like the extremist Religious Right that are trying to control Women's Reproductive Rights NOW.
I grew up in the Presbyterian Church, and by the time I was 9, I realized many of the stories were inconsistent, but I stayed and was confirmed. I did realize that the people of the congregation acted one way on Sundays… but the other 6 days… they were Hypocrits.
And once I turned 18 and they expected me to tithe, it was my cue to leave.
I've studied religions… yet I have my own faith. I believe in Native American Spirituality, Father Sky and Mother Earth… all things have a spirit… from bugs to vegetation to flowers and trees and animals. They kill an animal and thank their spirit for giving their life for the sustenance to keep them alive. And they never kill more than needed (or in danger from an animal).
You can be Spiritual without Religion.
Maybe you should contemplate why you feel the way you did after hearing this bit? What made you uncomfortable? Did George say something to make you question a belief?
    Just something to think about…

  7. When I first saw this standup, I was a kid and I couldn’t believe that someone could speak like this. It was literally like he came from another world. He really made me question what I believed. Now this bit is one of my all time favorites.

  8. Faith is the most dishonest position a person can hold, because it is self-deceptive. Faith is the excuse someone gives when they have no evidence for the things they claim or believe.

  9. You got triggered! 😂😂😂😂 Why people based their lives on science but when this topic Is coming up always says that humans were made by god and say evolution is an invention by scientists? I found it hilarious! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  10. As a life long Carlin fan and a born Atheist I think you reacted well to his bit. I am glad that you have conviction in your faith and for you to see what good you could find in it and move past. Carlin is a comedy legend who spoke often about his beliefs and taboo ideals throughout his prolific career. Look forward to more from you.

  11. "Learn how to share your Faith Effectively and Biblically. To be able to reason with people, learn to circumnavigate or go around the person's intellect. Kirk Cameron….it has to be mentally rough when trying to keep your blind faith while "thinking critically and rationally"

  12. I can see how you wouldn't find it that funny. To begin with, George's later specials in life were less about the comedy and more about the information and frustrations he had to share. While I do not agree with you overall, I find your stance interesting. I never thought before that this could strike sadness in the heart of a pious man but now I do, and I think it speaks to the state of this world and people's actions. If you believe that there is no God, there must be a life full of experiences that led you to that point. However, Godless people can still be good people; morals can still be shared without use of the Bible as George stated.

Regardless thank you for keeping an open mind despite your faith. It can be hard to take in other people's worldviews sometimes but you were not overly negative or spiteful.

  13. A genuine question for you. As an American you had an extremely high chance of being born in to a family that practiced Christianity, so having been raised in the faith you wholeheartedly believe that it is indeed the one true faith. Had you been born in India you would likely have been raised Hindu and hold the same confidence in the validity of that faith, in the middle east and you would likely be Muslim etc. If your faith is mostly dictated by the accident of your birth in to a culture that favors a certain religion, how do you know that you are right? And those other people who came to the faith of their cultures in the same way as you are wrong?

also I love the classic "if you can't see it , it's not real" argument,
if that's the case the atmosphere isn't real, microwaves, gamma rays, x-rays , ect aren't real either 🤷

  16. We believe there is something out there be it good or evil but the bible you read is not the same one that was ORIGINAL writen by MEN. 2 men took it to the romans to change the words so that they could scre the hella out of their people and make them do as they needed/wanted them to do. History is not what we are told!!! Be a good huan being and love and care and have emathy for your fellow human being. lets take out the religious and political sickness!!!!

  17. George is spitting nothing but absolute facts. Everything he says is true. How do people know God exists? Wheres the proof? Also why did God wait billions of years until he created humanity? People say that we are created in gods own image. So was God a dinosaur before we exised?

  18. here are some valid question for you, why does your chosen faith have the caveat "there are godless people" on the planet your chosen faith states is created by an all powerful god. also how did YOU decide YOUR chosen faith is the RIGHT chosen faith ? what gives this sense of "belief" any tangible fact or truth ? the abrahamic faith that evolved into judaism/christianity/islam is fundamentaly flawed at its base principles, but because of enforced, fear fed indoctrines they are just accepted without subjective thought, which is what George offers in bucket loads. no disrespect to you, it is after all mostly not your fault but i will have no respect for any and all institutional religious churches. why ? because all are inconsistant with each other including each of the churches supposed affiliations to each other, christianity itself has so many denominations it literally shows its inherant lack of facts and truth. i abhore the fact that im supposed to sit back and allow religious folks the freedom to literally spout how they want our freedoms handed over to these dieties which in all reality is a power grab move for money or positional power and control for the hierarchy of said religions. I have actual pity for people like you, so obviously attached to something that i will guess was just enforced and passed on by your parents merely on the premise that it was "the done thing to do" within your local community , bearing in mind that is how slavery was allowed to continue as long as it was (and still is in some places) amongst other "traditional" ideologies. I would have more respect of YOUR faith if you had done any real research into your chosen ideology, but to be fair, it can be a long and complicated path and if you could remove any bias would only lead you down the dead end that there is nothing to show religious truth. but to sit there and pontificate with assertions and hearsay is the biggest problem with religion. which leads to Georges opening statement "false promises and exagerated claims" ….. here endeth the lesson 😏

  19. He attacks the church more than religion. He may say god but it’s how it’s described between churches. He was catholic and well some religions use scare tactics or yell at you. Some want a day of mourning some want to rejoice.critical words like no god I think is just to get religious ppl riled up , once the topic comes up nothing is heard. People don’t learn if the are scolded and will be by god. A lot of churches will not help you to understand or give a reason to. Like Sunday is being grounded, ur in gods graces because you paid ur time like you did something wrong.ppl that feel guilty often punish them selves that way like that’s their debt for a bad action. I know you noticed some of that

  20. Aww he sad 😭😭😭 imagine the mental gymnastics you have to go through if you are black and Christian. In order to be a black American Christian you HAVE to be thankful that your ancestors were enslaved and mistreated just so that their descendants can follow the religion of their masters. How fucked up is that? Prove the bullshit man

  21. I dont think that his act is aimed towards personal belief, more like religion and churches of all flavours in general. All of those are no doubt parasites on the entire "belief" concept. This is not just about christians but prety much entire religion culture out there be it protestants, islamists, christians, anything you can possibly think of. People made "believing" look bad, they exploited it and turned people who are stupid enough into mindless servants of their own goals. Its realy that simple. That is what he talked about. Its simply a cult build from scratch on made up shit, no more, no less. Whoever needs someone else in long black or white fancy dress to tell them what to do and what not to do is weak and i feel sorry for them.

  22. Remember…God made humor too! I am sure God is strong enough to laugh at us, even when God may be the subject matter. I think "God" did a fine job with creation. The universe works, the Earth is a nice place in and of itself. It seems to be the PEOPLE that fuck things up! Me included! George was raised Catholic, he knows his Bible and much more. I see his point at my age (58ish) and he is right about stuff being screwed up. But is God really to blame? The blueprint is true, the builders are flawed. Humans, the power hungry ones, want more for them and less for everyone else (George quote). It is true. Of course at the very base level of opposing forces, good and bad, they are opposing. As long as that dynamic is in play this world for the humans, is doomed. We will not survive it. Our only hope is to get off this planet and leave the assholes behind (guess I won't be going lol). Go Elon!

  23. George Carlin is a philosopher before his time. However every time I listened to him he is gonna pick on many area's that are controversial. I will say this, when I did some research he is telling a bit more truth than I saw. He wants anyone to be aware. Open up your eye's that this world has tried so hard to close. Stay away from your faith, your beliefs. Leave no stone unturned while researching. I will say though George Carlin didn't know none important detail before he passed and this proves something. The sun as actually looked upon some cultures as God. I thought that made him believe in God without him realizing it. However I would say this vid you watched isn't supposed to hurt anyone. Just make you think and laugh. You did laugh. I cannot wait until you watch more.

  24. First off, I love that this creator has guidelines for commentary, proving he knows actual knowledge is forthcoming. Second if you want to fall asleep fast, just watch this guy, he looks half asleep all the time. I've never yawned as much watching anyone else. 3rd. George Carlin was a master of making even the hardest religious people take a long, hard look into themselves and rethink the conditioning they have been programmed to believe and turn it on its head. If you want to believe in anything, that's fine. Just research the ideals as to why you believe them. And if it's because someone said so, then you should see the problem.

  25. I’ve always been an atheist so I appreciate you taking the time to watch this. You mentioned godless people exist. God didn’t protect the god fearing though. Examples would include churches and synagogues that get shot up. Malik el-Shabazz was assassinated and he was a god fearing man. I know we could debate for days, but just one thing I wanted to mention.

  26. 13:20 I know what you mean. I get sad when I see people waste their only life that can be verified promoting/worshiping an ancient lie to control people and explain things that primitive people didn't have the means to understand.

  27. My view is that we do need to see to believe, but there are different ways of seeing. For instance, we realized that black holes must exist a couple hundred years before we ever took a picture of one. Human intuition is notoriously wrong which is why we have mathematics and science to correct our intuitive mistakes. Religion is a product of intuition and I'm not interested in it the same way that I'm not interested in arguments for the earth being flat or the sun and moon being sentient deities. If we can't see God with our own eyes or through the lens of mathematics and science I'm satisfied with relegating it to the realm of mythology. Blind faith is silly. Even if you do believe in God, you have no way of knowing what he expects of you because he never made it clear. That's why we have hundreds of sects of different religions all worshiping the same deity. Nobody can agree on how we're supposed to react to the existence of God. Given a lack of evidence, I'd rather just not believe and find my purpose elsewhere. The alternative is far worse.

  28. So explain why the Godless people are the ones that usually win, since god is so omnipotent and to be feared, The Godless people don't fear him and they usually win. So if GOD is really to be feared wouldn't he have to win? You don't need a man in the sky to be a good person. ANd if you're being a good person, because of the man in the sky, are you really a good person? or are you just afraid of GOD/HELL?
