if Shanahan does nothing with Lance this season, then Shanahan literally gave away three 1st round drafts. what head coach keeps their job doing that to a team?
Lance will be the starter as he will be ready 3 weeks before training camp and Purdy won't be and it's up to Kyle to get him ready. He already knows the system and he will have spring games before the season starts. Lance was the starter last year at the beginning of the season.
Even though Purdy cannot throw for several months, he can still improve merely by studying more of the playbook while he recovers from surgery.
Stop this madness. The offense that Trey Lance operated was far more complicated than what Purdy was asked to execute. Purdy played with McCaffrey and Trey Lance was McCaffrey. Did you see Purdy running qb dives? Trey Lance has the skill set to take the team to the next level. Purdy can keep the offense a float. Big difference. So just stop. No comparison.
Some very good insights from Simms. The "Kyle is a genius" stuff makes me want to puke. The Unabomber is a genius (IQ of 167) but where did that get him? I think Kyle has about as much empathy for his QBs (especially trey & jimmy G) as the Unabomber did for his mail recipients.
They both looked sick after Simms suggested trading Lance!!!! 😂
If anybody takes what Chris Simms said as validation or confirmation when it comes to this situation then you'll be a fool. This is the same guy that said Zach Wilson is gonna be great in the NFL. Also called Jalen Hurts a non franchise quarterback during his draft and after his first season. Also has said Kyle is gonna draft Mac Jones….. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

49ers need to build their offensive line so they can actually protect their QBs. In the meanwhile, start Trey Lance in a RPO offense and give Brock Purdy more time to rehab his elbow. Brock can take over when Trey Lance gets knocked out for the season again. I would give Trey Lance 3-4 games before he gets seriously injured again.

Trey almost beat the undefeated cardinals when the 49ers couldn’t win a game, he wins against the Texans, he has the 49ers up 10-0 even tho deebo fumbled the ball in the redzone and the defense gives up 19 points in the 4th quarter and somehow that’s treys fault.
