Chris Bowen is ‘isolated from reality’: Nationals MP

Nationals MP Keith Pitt has criticised Climate Change Minister Chris Bowen for being “isolated from reality”.

Opposition leader Peter Dutton announced the Coalition’s nuclear plan at a media event on Wednesday.

“Chris Bowen is isolated from reality,” Mr Pitt told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.

“There’s been multiple units built in both the UAE and South Korea – it’s very clear what they cost.”

  1. These lefty politicians have never had a real job in the real world ever, and now they in bed with overseas nefarious enterprises, selling Australia out, while feathering their own corrupt nests, while the people who voted for them sink further into poverty.

  2. We have to take a long term view to transitioning to clean energy. I'm not against roof top solar, but I am against massive solar farms as they have a short life span, the panels performance starts deteriorating within 10 years and will need replace 15-20 years. Wind turbines are a waste of time and money and destroy the landscape. I am definitely against these battery banks that may last 10 years but only a few hours of back up. Nuclear is a clean option and there is enough experience and technology in the world now for Australia to move forward long term, not short term with nuclear. In the meantime, filter out the carbon from the coal fired power stations so they can keep going for our baseload power until nuclear comes online. Europe stopped acid rain by filtering out the sulphur from coal fired power stations! I don't think people truly realise how much the modern world relies on electricity and the reason we must have 24/7 baseload power.

  3. I call the Labor party 'The Delusionals' because of how far detached from reality they are. They have no idea where we are at with net zero & wont until the country is ruined/broke.

  4. Bowen doesn't know he has a bus up his arse unless the people start getting off. His knowledge of nuclear energy could fit on a postage stamp. Modern nuclear power stations are very safe and very cheap. Don't believe otherwise.

  5. Even if the country spends $150 billion on these reactors, it's still way cheaper than what we've spent to date on trying to use piss and wind.
Renewable Fantasyland will be over soon enough once commodities like copper and lithium explode in price to unsustainable levels.

  6. Bowen is still living in the 1940's era. There are approx. 450 nuclear power plants operating around the world. The UAE is constructing nuclear power plants within 6 years. There are nuclear power plants that have been running for the past 60 years giving their people reliable and cheap electricity – but Dumbo Bowen can see any of the facts.

And now he’s an expert on nuclear energy!!!

  9. Nuclear and pump storage are great reliable zero emission power options. Why are you destroying the Illawarra and other local communities, when there are other options available. The Illawarra relies heavily on tourism, weekend visitors, day trippers and international students. The university is the largest employer in the Illawarra. No one is going to come to the Illawarra with 300 centrepoint sized wind turbines parked off the coast. The Illawarra region is going to fall off a financial ciliff, it's going to cost thousands of local jobs and destroy the Illawarra forever. Chris Bowen and Albo need to go. Vote these idiots out!
