Chinese coastguard wield axes in clash with Filipino soldiers in South China Sea

Chinese coast guards were pictured wielding axes and knives before a Filipino soldier lost his thumb in a clash in the South China Sea.

The Philippine sailor suffered the injury after what its military described as “intentional-high speed ramming” by the Chinese Coast Guard.

The incident is the latest outbreak of violence amid heightening tensions over who owns the disputed seas.

China claims 90 percent of the sea as its own sovereign territory but Taiwan and other Southeast Asian countries contest that.

Both China and the Philippines have accused each other of taking provocative action that infringes on their territory.

Monday’s clash occurred when Chinese boats blocked an attempt to resupply a Filipino outpost with food.

  1. My assumption is these Chinese soldiers are doing this because China is eager for an excuse to war due to power imbalance, if it was USA like this they wouldn't dare to even get close. I guess an alliance sort of like NATO is required in that area as well so that big fish don't trample over the little fish and take everything from them because they can

  2. 各位是不是不知道菲律宾平均IQ在亚洲垫底82, 而中国 香港 新加坡 韩国 台湾这些都是105-110的IQ,所以自然发生“军队被警察缴械”的情况也不奇怪😂
