China's spy balloon sought to intercept communications, U.S. officials say

Before China’s spy balloon was shot down, U-2 spy planes flew by it, taking high-resolution photos of what U.S. officials described as an array of antennas for intercepting communications. David Martin reports.

  1. Regardless, west is always feeding ccp for cheap labor. Right now the west is reaping what they sow but the impact is the oppposite. You fed the ccp, and made their greedy stomach bottomless. CCP wanted to dominate the world and it is very scary because they don't follow any international laws most especially if it doesn't benefit them. This spy balloon is an arrogant way of expressing their aggressiveness, they know its a low tech device and can easily be detected, but despite of that they still did it knowingly they can just twist the truth and because they cannot be easily touch since they are second in both in military and economic.

  2. "CONSIDERING imposing sanctions on the maker of the balloon.."
Geez, how weak are we? That's like imposing sanctions on just the makers of Russian weapons used in the invasion of Ukraine. WTF?

  5. Love how you guys include a short snippet of a picture taken from the U2 spy plane?! It has HD imaging too?! Wow that's amazing, because that looked worse than 480p… I will never understand people who follow this load of bs…

  6. Answer this question ? Why did the military target the payload instead of putting a hole in the balloon so it would come down slowly ? Our military dont have a means of putting a hole in a piece of cloth/ rubber/plastic ????? Instead they blow everything to pieces ? So the military cant blow a hole in a cloud ?? Why ?

So a missile cant be detonated manually over a target ? Can a missile be disarmed if it misses its target ?

So is this a """ hole """ in our security …..of which someone can build cloth / rubber devices that can be used for explosives over an area in war ? No one can touch it to take it out ? Cant a standard " rifle " round…say a 50 cal. be used at those altitudes to do the job ? If one round dont do the job….follow it up with more……and more……..and more until the balloon comes down ??????
