He wrote El Richlat, and described China as a very active commercial centre, as well as having a large active Muslim community. I believe your surname is of Moroccan origin. I am a Chinese speaker and have studied Arabic for some years, and have discovered many words in Chinese are of Arabic origin and vice versa e.g. Qamiz is shirt in Arabic but the plural is Qumzan which is the Chinese word for shirt.😊😊
