I've heard from drivers and I've heard that it's because they don't want to hire full time drivers. It's easier to have part-timers who won't qualify for full benefits

Just had this problem today been standing outside waiting and nothing showing. Waste of my time.
Yeah, this happened to me, sign said there was a train arriving in 2 minutes, 1 minute, and then just disappeared as if it did in fact come and go. I was at Clark and Lake on the Blue Line. The next train (which was another 20 minutes later, it was off peak, on a weekend), did arrive like the sign said.
Ghost trains and buses are for ghosts.
In Phila. dealing with Septa this wouldn't even be a news story!

The CTA ceo should be fired, but don't expect that anytime soon in corrupt Chicago.

Yes especially on Weekends theres almost no service at all.

Public transportation was supposed to solve climate change and traffic jams but it is so unreliable people still would rather pay for gas and parking and sit in traffic…
I take public transportation and never had a problem. Sometimes they're late or don't show. If have an issue take a cab or drive. Chicago has bigger problems like the shootings. This country has bigger problems like supporting murderous abortions, supporting LGBTQ sin, open borders for illegals, inflation, trampling on our right to bear arms so incidents like what happened in highland pk won't happen. Glad I became a Republican

when I was in Berlin I was shocked how buses and trains arrive on time acording to the schedules. They rarely delay..
126 Jackson bus most of the time is don't run and 20 Madison bus is the same way….run when they get damn ready.
