Chicago mail carriers are calling for better security after a rash of armed robberies, including one last week that ended with a carrier shot in the leg.
My postal carrier was transferred to a hot spot he was so happy to be transferred back . He said he heard gun shots while in the postal office getting his daily run togetherā¦. Myself, my neighbor, and a number of other neighbors of mine all were robbed by gunpoint the last week. Cops were called and reports were made – and as I read through all the recent robberies in Chicago – NONE of our instances of armed robbery were reported. In a couple of articles, a simple statement of ā1234 N Streetnameā was the closest resemblance of acknowledging a number of crimes that happened on the southern end of Humboldt and Logan. The point Iām making is – Iām realizing that only a portion of these INSANE compulsive-like number of robberies are most likely only fraction of whatās being reported to the media. After reading about the majors new plan with violence, he repeatedly brings up lowering the number of reports cops write up on black and brown people which is rationalized by how it can aid restorative Justice. Ironically, in this case, calling for officers to deescalate these robberies by not chasing after the vehicles, going in as a ācommunity supportā versus cause to arrest or report crime – he then is directly suppressing, disregarding, and essentially abandoning the victims/survivors. Itās like, oh you were robbed by gunpoint? Well, thatās not chicago policeās priority right now.

I saw a video where the adult was sitting in the car giving children insturctions to rob the mail carriers. Maybe suspend the service to once a week with armed guards or the residents will have to pickup the mail at the post office.
